The Russians are building an Airbase in Syria, they already have a naval base there, Have they forgotten Afghanistan already?
The Americans forgot Vietnam after 15 years.
DeMyer's Laws - an argument that consists primarily of rambling quotes isn't worth bothering with.

Hard to find a spot - for a naval base - in Afghanistan..

Have the Americans forgotten - that they have blown just about every hot war - since VJ day?

Well from watching the telly the floodgates are well and truly open. Every Tom, Dick and Mohamed has waltzed in.

Notice how half the immigrants are carrying a baby while the other half are pregant. I can't understand why the eurocrates haven't spotted this obvious problem in the making- prolific breaders who wont assimilate into the predominately Christian western world will most likely lead to the formation of ghettos, increased poverty and the resentment that causes. Which in turn leads to sectarian and civil unrest a decade or so down the track. The west hasn't been able to stop the fighting spreading across the middle east. Yet somehow it thinks importing the problem to their own homes will solve it.

I know most of these people were driven by despair to leave their country, although reports now show many others are hitching a free ride, but tranferring a problem from one place to another, doesn't solve the problem. The problem being the middle east needs to sort itself out so these displaced people can safely return home. Once settled in a host country there's no incentive for them or their 56 close relatives that tagged along to ever return.

Now John Key has caved in to the bleeding hearts brigade that doesn't understand that sometimes in life you must make decisions based on sound reasoning for the long term good, rather than knee-jerk emotional feelings.

Two wrongs don't make a right.
The fighting in the middle east is wrong and needs to stop
Uncontrolled mass immigration wont stop the fighting and doesn't change anything. The root cause continues, suffering continues, the people migration continues.

Yeah, what changed was.. Yanks used to do the sums 1st, & work out how many $ could be made from pumpin'up taxes/war machine industry..
& they wouldn't move ( WW 1/ WW2) 'til they could make $ on the deal..

When the neo-cons took-over, they just went ahead on blind ambition - put billions into 'privatised' forces & put the $ cost on the bloody plastic..

Now the stirred up ants nest ( that all those vicious - but secular - dictators had kept in check) is pouring its progeny in Europe's face..

Maybe Gitmo has some space to spare? Bit hard to get to USA otherwise.. Nor are they flooding to Israel.. not even the Xians amongst 'em..

anyone who loves irony must love this.

A bunch of people turn up, and take over a country.

...But this time, they're not white people.

(satire here, because i'm not scared of towelheads 'taking over the country', and i'm disgruntled enough with the current rort that it wouldnt actually be a bad thing. I fucken love falafel.)

Israel is waiting for general approval to bring out their neutron bomb..
Yeah you know, the one that kills by massive short term radiation burst -rather than a big boom spraying fire & shit everywhere..
..not that would matter too much, depending on the wind strength/direction..
