While I am in agreement with the fairly unsympathetic sentiments shown so far in this thread it was hopefully some small comfort for the rider to have someome there with them as they were dying.

Regardless of what sound like frankly idiotic circumstances (and I hate to judge without knowing facts), a life is a life. A tragedy is a tragedy.

His mother has had to bury her son and what those that went to his aid saw will never leave them.
