Definitely something not right, spent about 2.5 hours riding it today with a DRZ400 and CRF230 for company and playing swapsies, CRF230 was actually the most fun to ride

Anyway both other guys rode it and both reckoned it was way down on what it should be so I guess in a few weeks it'll be coming apart

    So how was Conway?

Thanks everyone who commented on the Waipara river ride.
I hope to head up that way soon.

Up & down ... yer know how it goes..

The loop never seem to end 50km around.
only a few gnarlyer bits on the main loop
    quite easy plesant ride...
    Boys CRF150 didn't like the beach... couldn't
get on top of the sand.... About 4km along the beach...

Shame it's not running like it should, but you'll sort it no doubt.
+1 what Pete said and it must have been a little of what you remembered, others told me there were some parts they remembered but not much. I did the two enduro deviations ( never crashed). At one point I could see the traffic on the hundalees !!!! Well I think it was. Anyway we had a great day with lots of variety and fantastic views.

Conway was my first organised trail ride and incidentally first time riding hills. It was quite a lot of fun, once I got the bike on top of the sand.

What I was really happy with is how everyone seemed to be quite friendly. I got help after binning it on the steep narrow downhill section and also got a hand when I put the front wheel into a ditch.

The final cool thing was getting some great advice on tying the bike to the trailer, it worked so much better than what I had done originally.

All round was a great morning, thanks guys.

All I remember was starting at the school, (I remember school trips from Cheviot to that) early on after leaving the school riding under a bridge, slippery clay uphill shit that took several goes and a long run along the beach

Haha we did all that exactly. Must be the same, it was dry so not slippery. If wet, it'd be a challenge for sure.
Washed the bike as soon as I got home, washed off the salty sand. Usually do it next day

Still not sure if I'm doing this ride. I've been back at work almost two weeks now, it's bloody tough after 3.5 month's off work (sure sleeping well) I'll make that decision Saturday

Hard to say no when you put it like that. Linton would say the same if he knew I was having second thoughts. Somehow I think I'll be there without the pink frock. I'll take the play bike Beta RR300

Another great day, the weather was perfect but dusty. The track was reverse from last year. I did three laps = 98.4 km's. Paul did you pinch my pink frock ? Because you were gone when I got back from my last lap. Just saying haha

Well I said to the guys because I am on the Beta 500 with road kit and road gearing I will see what the Extreme Enduro Deviation was like and may not do it...... but anyway..... I did it and it was F&%king hard, harder than the Nutbuster, my pink frock needed a serious boost to get me through so we did one lap and that was the end of my frock completely.

The shingle scree was very steep so bulldogged the bike down that, then I was frocked out, stalled the bike and tried hiding it is the bushes but didn't do a great job of that either

Awesome ride but bring my 300 Xtrainer.

I do have a large bag of excuses as you can see

Yes I know how hard that was as I was talking to Jeremy (white YZ450) and he had done them all. After that talk. I knew it was outside my skill level so stuck to the main loop.
Your excuses for leaving early are acceptable all things considered. I just had to drink some of my ice cold beer by myself.
