I don't think so. A certain amount of apathy is a basic survival method for some of us. I get the mental and peak out with anxiety attacks. This is with the completely insignificant issues going on in my own tiny existence. If I started fully considering issues of global importance I'd probably eat a lead pill.

That H2 is nice. Late 80s early 90s truly was one of the best generations of bike design.
