Were they getting 200 HP per litre like MZ?
2 stokes changed forever once Degner gave the designs to Suzuki.
I was caging to work on Friday and a RD summit was sitting at the lights, wound the window down, the smell took me back to Eastern Europe in '89...ah Trabants, MZ's and Wartburgs

like did they mistyped the first digit? it should be 1.. even then it's still not a great deal
The R&D and metallurgy remarks apply to Honda but not so much to Suzuki.
If you read Hugh Anderson's book it will be apparent that any "edge" Suzuki had was microscopically thin. While the other riders were out smoking, drinking, and dining up large, Anderson was in the garage until late with his mechanic working on his bikes. He was removing high spots from the bores and changing gear ratios from those stipulated by the factory to what he thought they should be.
The other riders decided therefore that the greater speed and reliabilty of his bikes was due to favouritism on the part of the factory toward Anderson.
Maybe, maybe not.
There is a grey blur, and a green blur. I try to stay on the grey one. - Joey Dunlop
Not as good as Hondas maybe, but it was still miles better than the east Germans, for instance Kaaden couldn't get decent plugs or ignition he had to trade MZ brakes for old Norton roadholder forks, he used to get these from Francis Beart and sneak them through the boarder up his Trousers.

hugh used to let them pump the tyres up, wheel it round, the side of the tent and let a couple of psi out, ermember too, he wasn't carrying any weight as such, but stood a foot or so taller than the other riders on those little 50's and 125's so imagine if the weight thing was even, he'd have been a step above them all, or moreso
This heap of shit...
