Good man Dani. He was fast all weekend but lost out in qualifying. Not the first time he has owned the second half of a race.

Is Dovi the destined winner of the next race?

Last night I found a fully detailed account of Crutchlows penalty and the subsequent reversal. (No idea where it was.) He had a visor problem, sweat had got onto the inside of his visor obscuring his vision. Apparently this was more acute in one direction which gave him a problem in one particular corner. Repeatedly exceeding the track limits is what attracts the attention of Race Direction so he was given a penalty.

The team appealed and produced his data which showed that after each transgression he had slowed so as not to gain advantage. Accordingly the penalty was overturned and the result was amended.

Does accreditation still exist, cos I'll go for that !

Must say I've always thought DP26 should have an advantage with his size in spite of the not able to get tyres warm theory. More noticable on small bikes, sure.
I had a mate who was 7 stone ringing wet (5.5 less than me at 12.5) it was like he had supercharging.
ps. long time since I was that weight !

You'd never go hungry with Nigella Gaz.
If it weren't for flashbacks...I'd have no memory at all..

On a bigger bike with more torque it'll be a lot less noticeable. You've also got to have the body weight to get off the bike to keep it more level, which is why Dani usually has a few degrees more lean angle than the rest.

I'm sure if you mapped it out there would be a perfect weight to be where you can get the heat into the tyres, without over heating them whilst still not slowing the bike with your lard arse.

It worked for him in the heat Sunday huh ? He was able to use the softer compound by being his usual smooth self with his 50kg waistline.

That's not how it works, and Marquez is heavier but usually has the highest lean angle.

Once the lean is higher than 45 degrees the more weight on board, the less speed the tyres can hold the surface at.

I thought he looked positively surgical. Gorgeous piece of riding.
Great to see Rossi hounding Lorenzo from the get go, too. Reminded me of days gone by, just applying pressure constantly. Takes some determination.
What a fantastic season! Stunning racing across all 3 classes every round.
I've yet to look at the moto gp championship standings but I bet it's interesting.

I have long thought that the line between brave and stupid can be very fine. You can decide on which side this dude stands.

That dude's got bigger balls than Iannone at Phillip island last season.

Y'all will remember Gavin Emmett who used to work for the Dorna commentary team but moved to BT Sport when they took over British coverage of the races. Prior to the running of the San Marino GP he interviewed JL. Jorge talks frankly about his season, his problems, his bike and his hopes for Ducati. It's all rather more frank than the often PR controlled talk you get from a rider interview.

It's crap weather so you might as well listen to this BT podcast: https://www.acast.com/btsportmotogp/...oplay?autoplay

Good ol' BT Sport. I get their GP coverage and IMO it is way better than the MotoGP lot. No Nick Harris for a start.
