Baking soda is very harsh on your skin and people may have a reaction to it - you can use baking soda to clean toilets or ovens, it's that strong. As it was mentioned before, vodka is the way to go (or my suggestion of Vodka and Tea Tree oil) - it's a great & effective disinfectant. You can also use it to freshen your smelly boots![]()
i think you may be getting confused with washing soda which is bleach, baking soda is what is used in a lot of products from quickeze through to toothpaste and i have never heard of anyone having a reaction to baking soda,(thats not to say it doesn't happen). oh please do not use washing soda in ya baking but it will leave ya gloves smelling like a swimming pool and leave ya hands very very clean especially if it happens to rain whilst you are wearing them
Baking soda (Sodium Bicarbonate) has a PH of around 9, human skin is about 5.5. Baking soda residue left in the gloves may cause some skin irritation, especially if it's used regularly and your hands would be in the gloves for a while. It's not the worst thing in the world to clean gloves with, but there are gentler options.
throw the stinky fuckers away and buy ones that don't smell like an asshole?

No body move... I dropped my brain
Rubbing alcohol works just as well at a fraction the cost... Just don't drink it...
I don't use alcohol because I found it shrinks the leather but not the lining. A big deal when you have big hands.
But then I have also found using them regularly reduces the odour.
The one and only time I had to clean a set of gloves for odour reasons I had previously washed in laundry detergent... Not knowing any better. No sport wash back then and no internet. To the library.
Recommendation from librarian was to either buy silicate free soap (now known as sport wash) or to rinse with white vinegar.
Some sodium bicarbonate in a plastic bag inside another plastic bag with your gloves into a warm dry space over night.
Magic.

Stop fisting yourself.
Wash your hands before putting gloves on.
