It's actually quite important. Most of us would probably agree all politicians are occasional liars. Trump though lies continually even when there's no particular need to. He seems to know fuck all, he doesn't read, he get's his information from cable TV, so he just makes shit up as he goes along. Trump is winning so far, while journalists are researching a response to one of his lies, he is busy telling more lies. What he says today may well be (and often is) the opposite of what he said previously.
He is still up to his conman tricks. I was annoyed at the press corps applauding him at his recent press conference. Turns out it wasn't the press corps, he brought a support team of employees with him, and it was them applauding.
Same with the CIA, after the things he said about them, he compared them to Nazi germany, there was applause for his speech. He said they gave him a five minute standing ovation. However long it was, and five minute ovations happen mainly in North Korea where people dare not be the first to stop clapping. Again,the applause was mainly from the support team of lackeys he brought with him.
Like John I hope he can do a good job but there is very little to suggest that he or the cabinet he has selected would be capable of that.
