    Motorcycle fuel costs

I'm interested in what your motorcycle costs to go to and from Akaroa as a comparison (160km, mostly open road with hills if not lucky enough to be in Canterbury)

    2002 KDX200 costs $40
    $28 for fuel
    $12 for 2T Oil.

About $25 a tank of gas for round trip.

That makes S1000RR a bargain performer. Cheaper on fuel but 10 times more horsepower.

If you can make it on Kiwibiker you can make it anywhere.

Yep, but can't take the S1000RR up the stock routes (I'm only guessing here though, as it is technically possible I guess)

My MT07 uses about 10l to get there and back.
My ZX6Rs fuel light would come on just as I got home so that would be some where around 13-14l
My RGV250 used the most, I would have to top up in Little River so that would have used about 16l plus 2t oil

Never done it on my bike but I'd imagine at 160km it would come in at about $18 / $19 for me. A shade under 10 litres. May be even better but I've not done a decent out of town ride since I got my bike sorted properly so not sure. Sounds like a good reason to go for a decent run though to find out.

Spirited riding on the thou would see me use near on a tank, so around 17l.

I get roughly 220k on 10-11L. By upping the pace a bit on the open road, I can barely squeeze under 4l /100K

How much oil are you using? 1 to 1?

I've never done that particular route but, typically 160 kilometres of fairly spirited riding would use around 6.5 litres of fuel.

0.025 L per L fuel, which is $1 per litre of fuel extra on top of the cost of the fuel.

    4L of 2T oil costs $150

I run good oil cause I ride at constant revs for quite some distance, which I hear is bad for 2 stroke engines.

Mine cost about 20 plus a stand down period at the doctors getting something repairs and 1/3 of its brake fluid.

Around 8.5l for 160k's on the ducati st, so around $18 would be a rough guess.
Riding cheap crappy old bikes badly since 1987

Our DT 230 Lanza with WR 200 jetting hits reserve at 150k on an 11ltr tank. I guestimate about 7ltr / 100km at 100kmh, ish. Oil, not sure. I just keep the reservoir full but it is thirsty. That's the G/F riding, I've hit reserve below 100km..... being a hoon. Not exactly a tourer but hilarious on the appropriate roads. What oil you using? I've settled on motul 710 (I think) and it smells nice but not as nice as Castrol TT. Castrol fouls the powervalve more pootling around and I had more residue from the pipe.
    Manopausal.
