Trump was talking generally about the migrant crisis, which I guess could be seen as a terrorist attack by the Swedish government on it's people.

If it was a generalisation, why did he say what happened in Sweden last night. that's pretty specific rather than generalisation.

When Trump speaks there can be many interpretations because what comes out of his mouth often doesn't actually make sense. Journalists trying to be polite refer to this as "flow of consciousness", but that's just a fancy name for making shit up as he goes.

I'm not watching it again thanks, so from memory, he referred to what happened in Germany, then does a little riff on "last night in Sweden"*, then he mentions Paris and Nice. Germany, Paris, and Nice were all the scene of recent terrorist attacks. Most people with normal comprehension skills would (and did) infer he was talking about a terrorist attack in Sweden.

So it's not "fake news" it is what he said.

There is no evidence to suggest that most Trump supporters have anything approaching normal comprehension skills, so I can understand that they would differ.

If NZ hitched up its wagon to the US with another stupid war like that I'd encourage my two sons to go overseas.

Actually the NZ Army was busy in Africa and then Europe so the Yanks had to come and fight the Japanese.

Once upon a time a good war record (or at least one that could be made to look reasonable without too much elaboration) was regarded as a plus if standing for President. That's no longer the case, three of the last four managed to hide from the draft: numbers 42, 43 and 45.

This may or may not mean much, except that Trump's one military excursion so far was a complete fuck up and lost the US access to a middle eastern country.
