My first Anglebox had a disk brake front end of an 315 Consul.

I spotted a blue 315 in Porirua around four years ago. It was on a car trailer - no doubt being whisked off to a secret location as an investment. Looked to be complete and in good nick (No obvious rust holes)

Mine has Mk2 Cortina struts - 315 struts give you the turning circle of the Queen Mary.

Why did they have the designation 315? Was it 3 cyl on (on average) and 1.5l?

They sit a bit high as well. The car is still arround somewhere.
I wish they had replaced the knee action shocks and the std small clutch when they put in the tuned Xflow 1600.

I had never seen one complete, let alone running on own steam (from radiator)

Not sure what legs my anglebox had in it, I did find that when you changed the front discs for Mk2 cortina ones the extra 1/4" offset meant you didn't need spacers to run 6" wide wheels, and it handled much better after I took to the springs with the angle grinder so they were just long enough to stay in by themselves. With a 1500 engine and cortina floor change box it was a fun wee car.

There used to be a stack of 315s at kiwi auto spares in chch, all that was missing off most of them was the front struts, the rear axle with the 9" brakes, and the engine and box. The rest of the car was worthless then.

I saw that article too. I never even knew it existed. I intend to get up there and have a look in the next week or so.

Another pricey offering from Waimak. Definitely drool-worthy though.
