It was declared a riot so only rioters were taken and good job too.
Governor Brown and Mayor Wheeler (both democrats) had done buggar all about the whole situation so a lot of people are happy the feds stepped in but you won't read about that on CNN...

If the guy shown in the video holding his arms up and being passive is a deemed to be part of the riot and thus due a good beating - then it is hardly surprising it is being reported as brutality.

I get it, something has to be done, but how about have the enforcement identify themselves as such and have "company" branded vehicles to match?
It is all very gestapo-ish as it stands now.

If the democrats mayor and governor are to be taken to task for doing nothing, are you giving Trump a free pass in totally abdicating federal responsibility of a central Government lead response to the pandemic? He totally gave the Governors a hospital pass in that arena just so he could say not my problem being close in to the election.

This is the same governor brown that asked the feds to sort out a few upperty cowboys in Burns Oregon a few years ago. Her and the mayor have done nothing about the Portland situation. A lot of people are thankful the feds are rounding up some of these pricks

Yeah, ultimately DL leans heavily into the fiction section. I remember when he seemed quite the expert on exactly how Greta Thunbergs parents had bought her up along with a whole raft of other Thunberg family facts. He was writing as if he had first hand knowledge of the family, like he had been their butler or something. So over a painfully excruciating few days I finally had his "facts" whittled down to the experience/knowledge he was actually drawing from and it all it turned out to be, was a photo of the family wearing antifa T-shirts (which upon reflection could of easily been photo shopped in) and the fact the mother had been an opera singer - a well known hotbed for communist operatives . And that was it! In his view that gave him all the knowledge required to extensively critique the entire family on a large range of subjects.
Having him as the only kber I have ever put on my ignore list is one of the best things I have done on KB. He and his "facts" are just a waste of time you will never get back.

If you watched the film Mississippi Burning you may recall that the FBI couldn't charge the KKK types that killed the civil rights workers with murder. Murder is a state crime and no jury in Mississippi was going to convict their own for killing outsiders especially black ones. The FBI charged them with conspiring to deprive the victims of their civil rights.

Most civil rights law is federal. The inbred racists in the backward states aren't interested in passing civil rights legislation.
