Martyn Bradbury reported that the police were firing rubber bullets at the protestors. I'd have thought that newsworthy, but it doesn't seem to have made the news. This whole farce was based on misinformation, right to the end.
It was in media reports during the livestream by herald and one news but they called them “sponge” rounds.
The whole farce was NOT based on misinformation, many people were just against being forced to do something, against segregation of society especially after Jacinda promised no forced vax. But as pointed out in other posts the loss of job and access to bars and hairdresser etc effectively is force by default. Even crime released on patrol have greater freedom.....

Definitely wasn’t antifa, violence would have started earlier and delivery trucks would have prepositioned pallets of bricks. Soros is too busy with Ukraine ops to be running Wellington

I did love how the cop handled that weasel journalist trying to bleat about fire doing police job. That cop knew where he was going and hosed (sic) cold water all over that parade. It could only have been better if the cop had said I now understand why the protestors were giving the media so much stick lol
It was a civil unrest emergency and if hoses needed to bear on rioters it doesn’t matter whose holding it.

Bollocks. The police rep was on the news tonight saying the same thing, if in more formal language. The FBI are stil arresting people from the footage of 1/6. Only the intelectually challenged are having a problem with this. Video evidence is evidence, what don't you understand?

Is that the biggest u-turn ever?

Last week you were calling anyone who supported the protest a cunt and now you are agreeing the Police shouldn't go after the feral pricks who threw bricks at them?

It's not the using of video evidence to arrest people that's the problem. It's the attitude, vindictiveness and malice behind the comment that is improper. Police shouldn't want to arrest people, they should be required to arrest people.

There's definitely an element of reveling in the exercise of power over those deemed 'undesirable' by the state and an almost glee at the prospect.

    It's improper.

I’m with pritch on this. The rioters totally disrespected the police, it was a prison style riot without the walls. The only thing I disagree with is them talking about going after those who funded the protest (and no my neighbours never got their petrol vouchers lol).... cause that’s real deep whole to go down.... and embarrassingly most will have been funded by WINZ lol
It’s one thing to refuse to leave and stand motionless like a monk, but throwing rocks and endless verbal onslaught of personal attacks deserve no respect.

Perhaps you should consider that virtually the whole world can understand what's happening here, but you can't? Again.

If the cops, who had to stand while a bunch of malcontants, misfits, and assorted mental cases pelted them with paving tiles, want revenge I'm good with that. As long as it's within the law. And it is.

Been waiting for the surplus food the group had stashed away to be donated to the foodbank, will they get it there or will it be dispatched to the picton square bunch of loiterers?

Upholding the Law is never about Revenge.
    It's about Justice.

And those two things are wildly different. They may look similar on occasion, but they are not.

A Police force that is out for Revenge has betrayed it's function and their Oath.

As I said, that tweet is Improper.

I'm fine with the Police using the video evidence, I'm fine with them making arrests, I'm fine with prosecutions for whatever is warranted.

It's the attitude being expressed by the Police here - there's elements of vindictiveness and elements of threatening - both of which are improper.

Maybe it wasn't revenge, more a promise that justice will come looking for you.

Funny thing is, that tweet may not even be real. There is no sign of it on their account.

I thought exactly the same thing when I read it, fake news, well rather than fake news, rather a cheeky meme from a non fan of the protesters.

    Well, fooled me...

So, I'll need to walk back a few things if it wasn't the NZ Police that said it. Maybe there is some hope afterall...
