Why is it that whenever a public agency does anything, there's always some moaning prick saying how it's not enough, should be funding more, doesn't reach the people it needs to, etc etc.

What happened to being grateful for the fact that someone is doing something, which is an improvement from what there was previously.

Inspired by the second paragraph of this article.

Except they’re kinda right. The new legislation will just be tokenist self reporting… further down the track the govt will prob use the data provided at business expense to divert attention at opportune moments and say her we are banning imports of product x.
We are part of the five eyes alliance, in about five mins computing time once all the data is entered into system the fact would be able to tell us whose suppliers are slave labour products.
But I think the economic fallout would be hideous for us. Just look at Cobalt which is needed in lithium batteries, there is no ethical non slave labour mining of it so boom that’s out of action.
Have a look at Sulfur mines in Indonesia people walking rocky slopes with bags of it.

What kind of slaves do the Australian Cobalt mines use ?

Cheers I wasn’t aware of that.

Although at 3% of world production vs democratic republic of Congo at 70% it’s safe to say it’s highly likely we are using the naughty version in most of our devices….

So, where should keen investors look for exposure to this promising metal? The Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) has long been the top producer of cobalt worldwide; according to the US Geological Survey, it accounted for about 120,000 tonnes — or 70 percent — of cobalt production in 2021.

However, the DRC’s mining industry is known for unsustainable mining practices and unchecked labour abuses, including child labour. The country cannot maintain its current level of production indefinitely, and many conscious investors are seeking more ethical alternatives.

Australia is one such alternative. Australia contains about 18 percent of global cobalt reserves, but is currently responsible for only about 3 percent of global cobalt output.

A guy here got 3 2 months for similar when he killed a grandmother whilst driving at 3.5 times the legal limit he also seriously injured her grandson pl;us another kid. He has of course appealed that sentence.
He got the short shift when he turned up at court on oxygen in a wheel car none of which independant doctors claimed he needed.
Lewis, who has 43 previous driving convictions including drink-driving, dangerous or careless driving, and driving while disqualified, was sentenced to three years and two months imprisonment in March.

Still feeling the blows from the commie regime.

My low user power plan is being ended thanks to “equality” another kick in the guts after they took away the reward of prompt payment discount for having the cheek to actually pay my bills on time.

AA is ending its Smartfuel discount which got me 70c lite off via power bill (cage only gets filled bimonthly). I hated going to BP anyway after Caltex pulled out.

Oh and copper lines being phased out in six months so I have to get fibre installed.

Really though I think all loyalty schemes should be banned creates needless congestion at pumps and there’s prob whole lot of people with extra toasters/electric jugs and other prizes surplus to their needs just being wasted.

Why are we always seeing the irrelevant Chloe swashbuckle on tv news interviews every time they interview Seymour in studio.
Threes morning show had Seymour in about negotiations then 2/3 of it got high jacked by the green nutter ranting about Middle East….

In case you never noticed, despite you constantly telling us, about how popular and awesome Seymour was, his party got about 50% fewer votes than the lunitic fringe green party did.
Yet Act outspent labour and national put together on internet adds. about 8x what the greens spent.
    Seymours an utter smeghead

The last few days has seen a higher number than usual for the season of Fwitterydriving including some of my own errors I must admit.
But clearly a lot of city dwellers out there unable to maintain attention span to keep left.
I worry for humanity after the vacant blank stare got from one tool that was driving by braille on centre line catseyesand ceasing yellows . Despite sign language a child would understand I dont think he realised the danger he put his family in.
But on a positive note nice friendly hello waves from Wanganui region highway cops for me and mate actually obeying speed limits on Superbikes lol
