Further to my earlier comment about the Trump defamation case being delayed due to Ms Habba's claimed exposure to COVID and her saying she felt unwell. Also potentially because of Trump's exposure to her. Ms Habba has now been photographed out on the campaign trail with Trump neither are masked and Trump is pressing the flesh with all and sundry.
Trump has no defence to most of the 91 charges he faces so his primary tactic is simply delay, delay, delay. The question has now been asked, did Ms Habba lie to a federal court judge?
The case is scheduled to resume Thursday US time. Meanwhile Trump continues to post defamatory statements on his social media platform. All of which are being recorded by EJC's lawyers and are being communicated to the judge, who will no doubt in due course convey them to the jury.

Because trump has had 100's of court cases experience and as such is the master of delay, the prosecutors want to get it done as fast as the glacial usa court systems will allow.
Trump is definitely a criminal. TDL used to say trump only started having all these crimes levied against him after announcing his run for presidency while rather conveniently forgetting trump university was found to be fraudulent well before 2016 and is one of the few cases trump admitted such and settled the case sweeping it under the carpet for his presidential run.
So R650, if you give the a confirmed fraudster the keys to the most powerful job in the World, do you really think the fraudster is going to turn over a new leaf and become an honest man, or scam the fuck out of the system to line his pockets with ill gotten gains? Serious question.

Trump is a massive egotist who can't accept that he lost as demonstrated by his ongoing claims that the election was stolen, because previously in his life when he fucked up other people had vested interests to protect so dug him out of the shit to save themselves.
In this case he got elected, demonstrated that he was completely ineffective, and was dumped. Most people would gracefully Homer into the hedge, but he won't because his personality disorders won't let him accept the fact that he was no longer wanted.
It is true that he is a brand that people will blindly follow to the point of dismissing reality, it's a disturbing commentary on America that he's the best that the republicans can come up with as a candidate, and equally disturbing that the best the democrats can put up against him is Biden. One day they might catch up with the progress the rest of the world has made, and elect someone actually relevant and competent as their president.

It's reported from multiple sources including Mitt Romney and Mitch McConnell (just so we are not quoting unnamed sources) that Trump has instructed the Republicans to do nothing to solve the problems at the border so that he can use the issue to attack Biden.
The Republicans are quite happily selling Ukraine out to Putin by continuing to block funding.
There is some bright news though. Trump White House official Peter Navarro who assisted with the plot to keep Trump in power and even wrote of his plan for a "Green Bay Sweep." He who was outraged when he was actually put in cuffs when arrested, has been sentenced to four months in the big house for ignoring a congressional subpoena to give evidence to the Jan 6 Inquiry.
Navarro speaks outdoors when he gives press conferences and the first time there was a heroic lone woman standing right behind him with a placard saying something like "lock him up." Next time she also had a referees whistle which made his life difficult. This time she had support, another woman with signs and there was someone with a cowbell. Ah well, at least there'll be no whistles or cow bells in prison.

You are right of course. My sense of schadenfreude overwhelmed me.
He will appeal of course - if he has enough money left. He was whinging about his financial state. I don't know how much time they get off for good behaviour in the US. In the corporate owned prisons it can be difficult to get the time off. The prisoners are inventory and the company needs to keep them there. An empty prison is a financial disaster to them and in the past they have asked for more people to be imprisoned.
In other news, Shawn Fein (how's that for an interesting name?) of the United Auto Workers Union has made an angry speech during which he called Trump a scab and announced the Union is endorsing Biden. This goes back to when the union was on strike. Biden visited a car plant. Trump visited a non-union component manufacturer but pretended he was at a union shop.
