No, the reason Biden stood down is because after the Debate it was clear to everyone in spite of the desperate attempts to claim otherwise that the Emperor had no clothes.

Have I noticed any appreciable difference in his clarity or speech - not really.
He is still cracking jokes and ad-libbing a lot of his talking points which shows he still has his faculties intact.

The problem is two-fold, firstly it is one of Crying Wolf - since this claim was made way back in 2017, it was patently not true then and the continued shrieks do not add to legitimacy. The second is one of hypocrisy - Joe Biden was *clearly* senile and getting worse and worse - and those same people who prominently declared Trump was in cognitive decline were somehow silent. In fact some of them said how sharp Biden was.

At which point - they showed what their true motivation was (get rid of Trump at all costs) and all subsequent bleating can safely be ignored.

His recent certificates and dementia tests were conducted, if they are actually conducted at all, by the 'Chief Medical Advisor' he appointed. The same doctor who was subsequently demoted by the US Navy for drunkeness and harassing staff among other things. If the doctor rejoices in the nickname 'Candyman' we can safely assume he offers all manner of extra services.

I am still able to understand a Trump speech just fine, the jokes he tells are relevant and witty - the type of thing that tends to go with dementia and cognitive decline.

Yes, Trump always has talked around issues, it is one of the reasons why he is so much fun to parody his style of speech - he meanders and goes off on tangents before coming back. That, in of itself, is not proof of dementia, cognitive decline or any other impairment asserted by armchair physicians.

Now, if you sincerely believe it to be so - that is fair - that is your opinion (to which you are entitled to) - but I just have to ask a sincere question in return: Does that not apply to Joe Biden, who is still the President?

If the answer is Yes - then I get to ask why has someone who is clearly impaired not resigned from the Presidency
