Do a search. Go look at some of the long threads from around 2005. Note the names. The ones where you say "Oh yeah, him, he was good, hardly ever see his name now". Lots of them.

Not just the ones who have been exiled .(Technically, only Mr WINJA ever got banned. But there's a lot more who know that any attempt to return would have them bounced out again in no time, no matter what they did or didn't do.). But also the ones who , from being major contributors , are now seldom heard from. KB has become a resource site, somewhere you go just to check on rides, ask a question . Rather than a community where people hung round just because it was a fun place to be. Even you, Mr Scumdog, are but a near silent shadow of what you once were.

BTW, has anyone noted the geographical bais of both the exiles and the mods? Almost all the exiles are from Auckland and north. Whereas the only mod I can think of from there is Mr Frosty. All the others are from the south.

Dunno what that means, but it might explain why KB has become sort of the motor-scooter auxiliary of the Fendalton Senor Citizens Knitting and Crochet Society. Doubt it's purely coincidental.

EIT: Forgot Ms Riffraff. She's Dorkland.

I have heard that Sportsbikes.co.nz has mostly Northerners (Auck) as members.

I pasted a link to my sprint thread there and got my hand smacked - apparently it's a no no. One member said a few of them cannot access KB, (exiled?) which didn't quite make sense as surely they can still 'lurk' without logging on.

The reason for the hand smacking is that quasi started the site, and its a site in its own right, and understandably gets fucked off when people kept linking and talking about threads that were on KB. A bit of overkill in IMO, but hey, anything else goes on that site.

Hmmm maybe it appears like that to you - but no way have I been forced or modded into a 'near silent shadow'.

I still poke people with sticks, wind people up - as well as offering advice, support etc.

Just like I always have and nobody has threatened to kick me out of the sand-pit.

I once got a yellow card from a mod - who immediately apologised as he had issued it in error and that is the only time I've been 'modded'.

(I don't count posts being relegated to PD as 'modded')

Absolute crap but then it's always been a long held KB tradition to make unsubstantiated statements and pass them off as fact,

people and their priorities change, it's not much different from a community in the real world where people come and go, if you cant handle it find some Amish to move in with.

I've certainly reduced my posts and surfing time on KB coz I'm finding it harder and harder to find anything here that is interesting, funny or relevant when compared to the time I first logged in looking for advice as a noobie on a 2 fiddy. Pretty soon The_Dover came round for coffee one afternoon and I've never been the same since!

But there were a few shit fights that were hilarious and no one cared coz it was guys who were mates in real life.

Had a look and ya know what? Day-jah-voo, saw nothing more 'exciting' than I see on KB.

Same shit, same people and a big set of site 'rules' right at the top of the home page.

Heheh, and collateral damage and then the great schism and then the fallout, things go fallow then there is the boredom ... until somebody does something and the usual hulla-balloo happens all over again!

If only life was so easy. There is a big difference between playful banter and malicious bullying abuse. The former is acceptable on Kiwi Biker. The latter is not -- even in Pointless Drivel. Most people who have been members for a while should know where the "line in the sand" is on this matter -- even the pitiful, bitter, shit-stirring, sad old men.

Arggghh! You should have a warning on that picture - I've nearly spat my coffee all over the keyboard laughing.

Although I prefer fucktard over fuckwad. More satisfying rolling off the tongue. . .

Fucktard is a close second to my current favourite word, pudding.

As for internet bullying - amazing how people become nine foot high and bulletproof behind a computer screen, but bugger all have the nerve to say the same stuff face to face.
