Thought about a security camera? You can get some pretty cheap numbers on TM these days?

Another option could be the intruder alarms available at Dick Smiff or similar. They have a movement sensor like the wired ones you can get for house systems but it is a standalone unit with AA batteries, keypad and a loud alarm. Once armed, anyone entering will trigger the alarm. They cost about $50.
