    Doesn't make it alright.

But does anyone care to name and shame some of the other irresponsible reprobates participating in the naughtiness of non-ATGATT compliance?

Cos that'd be the fair thing to do...

    My 10 cents...

I guess it came across wrong ,what I meant was that others were going down the road to gas up like this , and no it`s not the way it should be done , what I meant was that others were doing it besides Crashe , so Crashe should not be singled out , that`s all

Putting the topic aside for a moment, I'm horrified at the irrelevant personal attacks on one of our members. I've seen similar attacks here on strangers and/or public figures, which are distasteful enough, but someone who is going to read it?!

    Thank you.

All ok to discuss if you think actions are acceptable or not... but why drag KB into the drama?

Me too... surely if you dont agree with someone pm them and have a chat... why all the usual KB lynching?

I don't see it as a personal attack. ANY rider who rides like that (without a helmet & unsafely) should be brought to task.
They shall not grow old as we that are left grow old.
Age shall not weary them nor the years condemn.

    we will remember them

    Thats a good call.
Sounds like a few people were riding without using their heads. How else can they explain their blatant disregard for riding without the most important piece of protective gear.

I have to agree with all the bitching about the right gear. Out the back of Tarata in very good company today I put my Monster down, blind LH hill crest with loose metal. Front went, shoulder hit, face hit, pinky ground/grinded. Stillness, fuck - I'm on the road. Christ bike still idling on side - Adrenalin, bike lift, petrol drip - OK just vent line. Owww my pinky hurts, anything else? Indicator, bugger, gear change bugger, clutch - cracked but working. Hear comes Leo - missed the newbie tail end charlie. All good? Mostly. Bike in 3rd and cant change - nurse her along to the rest of the guys. Malcolm patched me, Doug got me a gear change. All good.

Motto? In one slowish crash I damaged my new Nolan, both pieces of my RJays Tempest (bless the kevlar bits) gear, my gloves and the toe of my left boot - sure I have a sore pinky but it would have been a shitload worse if I hadn't been wearing the right kit.

Any toss pot that claims ACC for an injury sustained while not wearing good gear is keeping our registration fees up.

    Guess that was a rant...

Ill take the two minds approach.

Firstly, I am a kb mentor and although my mentor duties are seldom used it is good to set an example.

On the other hand, it is often that the group might sop at a cafe or something and then go for gas just up the road. I might slip the helmet on and not do it up and put gloves under the blade to get a little way up the road.

The fact that the helemt/gloves are not in the picture or on the bike kinda suggest that the picture is staged. So probably innocent.

As for an attack on "one of our own" if Mom has concerns I think they should be voiced. I am sick of the "only see the "approved activity" on kb. Moms orginal complaint about kb mentor being a bad example is valid. Turns out crashe is not a mentor but that does not negate the point.
Should come for a ride with me sometime cause if I think someone is acting "inappriopreiately" (sp?) I will tell them they are being a cunt. I dont care if they are a kiwibiker or not.

ps. I have never met crashe but her riding abilities/non-abilities have rumoured their ways all the way down here. Who knows if they are true or not. Simply that the rumours get out should be warning enough.

Nearly all men can stand adversity and hard time, but if you want to test a mans true character, give him power....

Why should she be brought to task? Surely its her decision to put on the the helmet or not... its not up to KB to "educate" an adult woman on making decisions for herself?

Oh and before we get a mod out cry - this is my personal opinion.

Maybe those who witness it thought it was cool to do what she did? which is not IMO.

I was there and did what I can and showed my concern to those who were unfortunate on that particular corner.

I thought the poster already mentioned a few times that it's not a personal attack.

Mom - nice work at being a mum.

Crashe - I can teach you to do that with no hands on the bars too.

How hard is it to put on a helmet? And on average how long does it take?

How long does it take to recover from a head injury depending on the situation?
