With ears full of rubber grommets, a helmet on my head and the wind going past it at speeds in excess of 100kmh, I can't actually hear much noise from my exquisitely customised exhausts. Meanwhile, in roadside paddocks, assorted farm animals are fleeing for their lives...

Sometimes all that's required is shimming the carb needles and adjusting the idle mixture. If you do it yourself (like I did with my VFR750 and VTR1000), it's very cheap ($0.00 in both cases).
    ... and that's what I think.

    Or summat.

    Or maybe not...

    Dunno really....

ps: any Taranaki riders want this done, "TAP" in Ngaire is the go.

That is real cheap. Keep us posted for the result. If it's all you expect, I think the Nqaire guy will have a number of orders....
PS - when you see him, tell him the Eliminator indicators did not work and had to get another pair - wrong resistance in the bulbs
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

The Ngaere Garage brings back many happy memories. I remember when it was owned by Geoff D'anvers and then Alan Jago of stockcar racing fame from the early 1970s. Alan operated the Taranaki VW franchise from Ngaere for a number of years -- I even bought a 1302S Beetle off him.

He is a nice guy, very helpful, wasn't his fault that indicators were wrong for the bike (I was trying to get a particular 'look' to suit the bike). Let him have the bike for the time he asks...sometimes certain adjustments are reqd and these things can take a while, tho not usually. Patience Grasshopper.

Deepends on what sort of growl you want (ok mabey i was a little obsessive about previous.......ok i admit, i did actually sit down one day, and analysed bike noises).
If you want a deep down, throaty growl like a rotty in a mob patch. You cant go past Laser pipes. Ugly as fuck though. But if you need a sound comparo ring klown tell him to run out to the garage and start his bike.
If you want to pick up the thunderous pulses of each stroke - two brothers.
If you want a mid-range howl like a timbre wolf, Micron
If you a low down scavenging roar - Supertrapp
If you want a nice note - like a tuned piano - custom chambers.
If you want hp, top end demon howl - Yoshi's
If you want loud bike noises (as in the same noises just louder) - Staintune.
Right i better go have a wank now cos i got myself all hard.

    Good read avgas.

    What about the RPM brand?

Local bike shop here have some carbon fibre ones on the wall for about $300.
Said the company usually do car exhausts and do the bike ones on the side. They have thrown a few on and dyno tuned and seem happy with em.

WOW, Alan Jago, now there's a name ive not heard in YEARS! I used to watch him race at Stratty speedway. Ill never forget the last time I saw him, he was coming last & with half a lap to go he passed the entire field ON THE OUTSIDE & won lol, just amazing, damn that VW could go

Stick a bypass resistor over the indicator to shunt the majority of the current. Usually fixes the fast flash-rate problem.

I think they stole the design from other co's. RPM's car mufflers seem to only have a decent growl from about 1/3 rev (made them good for vvti, vvt etc). I imagine looking at the bike pipes that they are a more top end growl.
