Interesting. The promulgation of this wonderful law is located???
I have not noticed anything that says "cars only" on the parking signage.

Are you talking just parking buildings or all car spaces?

I sincerely hope this is not the case. Can anyone confirm?

Back in the 80s the Auckland City Council had a policy of only one vehicle per space. The Auckland motorcycle club got a group of bikers to cruise Queen St and surrounds on a Friday night. When a car left a space a bike would take it. The council soon relented and allowed multiple bikes to occupy one space.

Now I understand. This is for "Pay and Display" I believe. I think it's to get around the problems of attaching a parking receipt to a motorcycle and the subsequent "I DID pay for parking, my receipt got blown away!".
