My best mate rides one, actually hes got 2 but his old sporty doesnt get out much these days, personally they dont do it for me at the moment but since riding one i can see one in the garage later on down the track,a Harley or M10 or similar, different strokes for different folks i say and you ride what ever makes your heart sing..simple really.![]()
Be the person your dog thinks you are...
People hate Harleys for the same reason they say Hondas are for gays.
Petty, pathetic, foundation-less, stereotyping.
Some people love 'em some people dont. I guess bikes are subjective - we each like our own thing, and cannot understand others.
Me (for instance) love the idea of cruising (and will probally end up with a Harley or a Triumph), but cannot understand sportsbikes at all - dont like 'em, and think that they are ugly.
Now - Im sure that there are some people on here that love sports bikes (ya think!), dosnt mean that I'm right and that they are wrong - is subjective and people buying the right tools for the job. They just have to remember that others think differently.
I think i'd have a chopper of some sort with a big bore S&S motor or whateva, but im not sure a skinny white boy riding one looks right.
I'd never have just a harley though, sportsbikes are far better and the harley would be a second or third bike in the garage.
The gay leather pants and tassles don't do it for me, nor does the 18th Century engine technology. Even the VRod is pretty basic compared to modern stuff.

I can't forsee a time when I will not have a Ducati in my garage! I just thought I might get a Buell too that's all. Sound, torque and handling. my three biggest desires in a bike. Top end doesn't come into it for me as long as it can do the ol' ton then that's plenty.
Yeah Buells aren't bad, they look cool....good wheelie bikes too
Just wish they had the VRod engine instead!
Not sure I could put up with the lack of rev's though....it'd feel strange blatting around well below 10,000rpm.
At the end of the day though, a bike is a bike is a bike.
We're all bikers who love the fresh air, and the freedom and excitement of two wheels.

But surely it's just like sitting on your sofa with a few fans infront of you face. where is the thrill?![]()
Perhaps their thrill is the amount of 'wind' they get rushing up their leather tassly flares when they go commando?
