Er, yes. Yes, that subject is something that concerns me. To be honest, as you would expect, I spent a large portion of the weekend travelling at speeds that the constabulary would probably not have smiled upon. A combination of luck, careful selection of location and timing, and a lead rider with a radar detector, however, kept my halo bright and shiny.

I even got a cheery wave and thumbs up from a gentleman riding the other way on a Highway Patrol BMW just north of Rotovegas on Sunday. It was all good.

I would not, however, expect that luck to hold forever.

Was that you I saw northbound on SH2 on the red 600SS, Sunday evening?

    Glad you had fun though.
And I'll stick with my 1450cc "25KW Model" with it's awesome 5,500rpm red line and excess weight plodder.

But a fang on something grunty and nimble IS great for putting a smile on your face - and making your hands sweaty too.

Thats a good point though I sort of see the loss of licence as being the least of my worries when letting rip on a 150+ HP sport bike. Especially when it comes to my littlies. As Random says, it is all about discipline and I freely admit, and I shocked myself too, that I wasn't as disciplined on a Hayabusa as I would have liked to have professed.

I saw this and pissed myself. This is what every cage driver thinks about every bike rider.

Does this make Imdying relatively cagey?

'Twas not I D. There are a few people who know nothing about motorbikes that are prepared to ride these gutless beasts. No straightline speed but rewarding in the corners.

I was northbound on SH2 on Saturday afternoon though - maybe what you saw was reflected light finally catchinng up with me....

Unfortunately, in some cases, it's true. I won't dredge or repeat the relevant discussions that have been held here on the subject.

I make no pretensions to being a 'fast' rider. I enjoy corners best when zero arse-puckering is involved.
Sounds like a review of an FJR1300, rather than something excruciating that leaves one's piles in tatters.

Yes, I was mildly unclear as to the precise nature of your riding this weekend after a cellphone conversation which, from my end, sounded something like "muttermumble porridge kilt SH2 haggis BOP aye oop incomprehensible, glasgie sporran".

Always lovely to hear from you, though

Yeah, Scracha said Fish was in Whangamata and I thought he meant you - obviously he was referring to another fish as you so eloquently pointed out. Good job no one can hear my accent when I type eh?

Well - you're the one that raised the porridge issue in the first place - I made no mention of it! Anyways in Scotland it's spelt Porage.

So, I assume (ass, you, me, etc.) that this thread means your bionic thumb is sufficiently run in to be able to ride bikes again?
    ... and that's what I think.

    Or summat.

    Or maybe not...

    Dunno really....
