Ooo, what are you thinking of moving to after the TLR?

I'm just hoping my bike will be fixed in time for it!

I've posted up a thread in GBR hoping to borrow a 250 off someone so I can actually come to this meet - will be stupid if I can't since it was me and Phoenix who set it up! Anyway, here's the thread, hopefully someone will be able to help me out.

200BUSA: You'll have to bring the new bike along to the ride the week after and show it off!

On a way happier note, I got my got my Restricted licence today, so the L plate has come off!! Was a bit nervous untill I got on my bike and began the ride, then the nerves just dissapeared....except for went I turned to wrong way

So I'll be there the first wed after my bike gear arrives... safety first!

Cool, thanks heaps! You rock! Don't know how I'll make it up to you, but I'm sure we'll find a way. Hopefully I won't have to take you up on the offer, and the NZ is fixed before then, but I'm pretty sure that won't be the case. Story below.

Hey D. Yeah, the stuff that needed doing due to my wee off was all sussed, bar the rear plastics which I must get around to doing. But the fork seals were about had-it too, so I took it in to Linton at Dirt Action to get them done. He ordered the bits for it and when they showed up I took it back in. Couple of days later he phoned me saying the fork internals (I don't know too much about them, but I gather they're bushings and some inner seals) where absolutely shagged, totally worn out and unusable, and needed replacing too... so he's had to order those parts in as well. Still waiting on those parts so the forks can be put back together and get me back on the road! Fingers crossed it's sooner rather than later.

Didn't really want to spend the extra money, as I'll be selling the bike before too long and upgrading, but I don't really have much choice if I actually want to sell the bike. So I'm taking it on the chin and spending the money to have it right.

We're hoping to make this into a weekly thing, nice and regular-like. All going well we'll have a bit of interest and enough people coming along to keep this thread going... but either way me and Phoenixgtr will probably still head out. Watch this space!

well thats a cock up on your behalf... he knows his shit, but a NZ250 aint exactly the 'shit' what Im saying DE is that he will take 3 months to do them and they will be in as good a condition as new, but you dont need that on a NZ... he does performance work.

I do consider you unhelpful, actually. You're more inclined to argue and be belligerant with me, and "put me in my place", than actually being helpful. Still feel like sharing your idea?

No, it's not a cock up on my behalf. I asked three different people who I should take the NZ to, to get the fork seals done, and his name came up every time. Yet I'm supposed to take it somewhere else because it isn't worth it?? I know my bike isn't "the shit", you're good at reminding me of that. Linton's been excellent, great service and communication, and it isn't his fault that bloody everything on the NZ is unique and difficult to find. I'm glad I took it to him, I know he'll do it right.

Yep, or they don't ride at their own pace and fall off. I'd much rather they mooch round the back of the group with me a few times than take off after the others, wrecking my ride and wasting my time when they bin. Doesn't happen much cause we mostly stick to ourselves.

hadn't notice dangerous disparaging your ride in any post... From what i've read he's saying your bike is not the 'top of the line' racebike and prob doesn't need 'top of the line' forks. Horses for courses... as they say.

And as for not being invited, it takes 2. Havn't noticed any PMs or texts to Dangerous to say "are you out for a ride today?"
usually its like this... On the phone to mate "ooo nice day, done the chores, shall we go for a blat in 30 mins?"
Should we then text everyone in our phonebook as say the same? get kinda expensive...

oh and Dangerous is belligerant with everyone, you aint being singled out
