    Stalling mid flight

The Repsol has been in storage since Jan. Decided to give it a bit of a run so put some fresh gas in at Gull. Saw "98" on a pump so was filling it up and noticed that it was some sort of bio fuel crap with 10% Ethanol. Anyway, stopped off at Whangamata will the lads and it had trouble starting. Thought about the fuel so topped it up with some normal juice. On the road to Waihi, I was approaching a corner, revs at around 9 and the damn thing just cut out. Was an interesting corner.

So, could it have been the hippie juice or could it be that the battery might not have enough charge to run stuff?

I would have thought if it was the gogo juice, you would have tuning issues first, like missing or backfiring. A cut out like that would normaly be electrical, ie tilt switch or kill switch shorting etc

    just my 3 cents

Yuck. Not fun. You might also want to look at the side stand. It's possible the bolt's a bit loose and its moving enough to trip the switch.
And I to my motorcycle parked like the soul of the junkyard. Restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off. Up Highway 106 continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed, wild to be wreckage forever.

That twisty thing on the right handlebar--you turn it BACK to go
Nahh seriously mate I'd suspect the battery before the fuel
The symptoms aint right for it to be the fuel--Unless its RELATED to fuel--IE some shit has blocked up your fuel filter

No problems at all. It was after we left Whanga that it was hard to start then stalled.

Could be a lot of things (yeah like that helps) but if it's sat for a bit, particularly with a 1/2 tank of gas during a time of climate extreme change, condensation can introduce water into the fuel cell OR the pump's tank at the servo could have been contaminated. Tip an egg cup or so of meths into the fuel or drain the float bowls...

Yeah well OK - it was a generic answer.... I suppose fuck all bikes still have carbs eh?

If it's a fly by wire gizmo take it back to the shop and ask for a diagnosis and don't waste time asking on KB...

Not really maybe Harleys..... but Euro 3 is killing them all one by one.

Yamaha the only ones with Fly by wire throttle at the moment.

Fired up the Sporty a couple of weeks ago - first time out for a ride on it in over a year.

Popped and backfired at first but it did run, then as the old fuel in the carb got used up it smoother out (but then it IS an unsophisticated basic machine - apparently.. ) ...so given your symptoms I doubt it was fuel - you would have had more warning.

I think Frosty is right. I heard that the fuel injection system (amongst other things) on a modern bike requires good battery juice.

    I'll check the battery tonight.

If the electrical system fails to provide sufficient DC mid flight you have some serious issues.... If it spun easily when starting it should be OK but if the batt was flat when you first started it after it's layoff you could have cooked the rect / reg.... Surely a modern wonderbike should deliver a printout or have a diagnosis port?
