    Probably can't use it.

Anyway, right now it's looking like the following:

Meet at Ramarama exit on the west side of the motorway (left turn when coming southbound) on Ararimu road. Everyone will park on the side of the road until we leave.

Route will be SH1 north to Auckland domain. But just looking at the best way to get from the motorway to the domain.

I am thinking turnoff Symonds St exit then onto N Western Motorway exit. Turn right at Nicholls Ln, then do a U turn back onto Stanly St, then left at Lower Domain Dr up to the domain.

Just need confirmation than this route works and is best as I'm in Christchurch so unable to check it myself.

Off at Kyber Pass, right, then left onto Park Rd by Lion Breweries, enter via the drive before Auck Hospital... might need to see if we can get an escort off the off ramp mind you...

:edit: Perhaps Bykey Cop could be approached for a little help with this?

We need a route with as few traffic lights as possible as we wont have police escort.

    Possible start points.

There is a big oval and parking just off the motorway at Drury, on the northbound side, not sure how populated it will be tho.

There is a fairly long straight tretch of road running alongside the northbound lanes of the southern at Papakura off ramp. This goes to a kindy and is unlikely to be being used.

Both places have plenty of room for bikes to be safely congregating.

The ramarama road might be a bit dodgy, depending how many show, and how long they are waiting.

Best bet would be the truck stop at the Puke turnoff though, plenty of room there, and they would be unlikely to mind give the potential business

Pretty sure there is no right turn into Nicholls Lane.

You could get off at Wellesley st to head up into the domain via the bendies on the Lower Domain road (only two sets of lights).

Wouldn't a police escort be a good idea, especially they are on bikes!

Nodman is a real sweet dood and bike copper too. Have met him in the course of his duties and he seems really helpfull. I'd be happy to get in touch with him but Spank, this is kinda your baby so I'll wait to see what you think. There is also another cop who drives one of the covered utes and seems pretty high up in things but rides and knows Frosty and always turns up to cover bike accidents etc if he can so might be another good one to get on-side?
I'm selling my new riding gear!! Only worn a few times get a deal Kiwibikers!!

    Hi

Just reading here whats going on, sorry I cant help organise rally areas or routes, Im rather upto my ears myself with things...but just some ideas to get the word out.

When I want to do something I mass email Motorcycle Trader, Kiwibiker, Herald, local papers with a press release, and copy of whatever flyer.

I post threads at various nz sites - forums, email contact lists with flyers and ask to forward on.

Hauraki FM is my sole media partner and if you give them a call you may find they'll do up some jingles..they can do these up within 2 days but ideally need a week , even if they charge you its very very reasonable, and the pirates may even do an adlib like they did for me on the morning show.
Hauraki are very keen to get into the biker demographic.

Make sure you really sell it to the tv media as they mucked me around something chronic in regards to the run I held.

I wouldnt reccommend stopping on the bridge as youd bound to get Joe public offside, although it would be very showstoppish.

Make sure you have something planned for the otherside of the ride, people forget.

Love what your all doing - Keep plugging away at it
    Cheers

Agreed. We'll only make enemies, and no friends, by stopping on the Bridge. Whoever came up with that idea should be at the back. WAY at the back!

I see the request for red arm bands. So we come off looking well organised etc does someone do bulk material or could make up a few hundred bands? Ideally everyone will have them on the same arm, same looking bands so without any thought at all the puplic will see us as one massive group from all walks of life. Sooooo, who's got a bolt of red lycra or similar and an overlocker? I don't think money would be a problem at the meeting point. Obviously proffiteers would have to live with themselves but a $1 donation or something should cover it?
