Great to hear. Looking forward to seeing pics of the finished article before you sell it.

Is the V-Max next on the restoration list?

Yep. That one's gonna be easiest. Give it to the shop and say "it's making this noise, fix it."
Using the money from the Virago to fund fixing the Vmax and the Rebel then selling those. That should give me enough money to buy another bike without finance or a loan.

Great working plan. It's way better when it's all paid off.

Ok, my dad painted the bits yesterday morning and I let them sit and dry for bit over the 24 hours the can tells me it needs to fully cure.

Unfortunately both me and my dad missed seeing a spot that he missed when painting so we're gonna need to touch that up sometime next week.
    Pics are here.

Means I can afford insurance which means I can ride the nuts off it without worrying overmuch about having to pay it off after a crash.

Does that mean you won't be showing up with your flash looking bike then this thursday?
"I came into this game for the action, the excitement... go anywhere, travel light,... get in, get out,... wherever there's trouble, a man alone... Now they got the whole country sectioned off; you can't make a move without a form."

Paved roads are just another example of wasted tax payer dollars.

Easy enough to paint that small spot with the tank on the bike. I'm sure as not gonna go through re-connecting the fuel lines again.

EDIT: why do all the curse words I use in here disappear?

Hey waylander, what are you hoping to get for the Rebel 250........
Last time I saw it (in Hamilton) she was in pieces.

Will it take quite a bit to get her back up to road standard?

Also cleaned up the rest of the bike today.
Amazing what a bucket of water and soap,a wire brush and 4 hours worth of elbow grease can do.

    Pics

How much I hope to get for the rebel really depends on how much I get for this one, the Vmax and how much I have left after fixing them all.

And finally, the finished-ish project. Bike is all back together with the exception of one spark plug that snapped at the tip when I was swapping them out. Supercheap is closed so will have to go get another one tomorrow. Oil and oil filter have been changed as well.

    Pics

Oh yea, I need to re-adjust the mirrors too.

Rest and have a cuppa, first, don't over-do it all at once.

Looks really good, dude. At least you did the prepping, bogging and painting yourself - I cheated when I restored the Zundapp and got someone else to do it.

Best wait a while before adjusting your mirrors then, could be catastrophic.

And don't, whatever you do, try and fix up the paintwork at the moment.

Have a great celebratory drink. Have one for me if you can cope with the taste of vodka.
