Cruisers - Just ride them!

Being currently at the stage where sportbikes are hurting me and I'm looking for an alternative for road riding, I'd be interested to hear whether you checked out a range of different non-sportbike options (motards, 'standards' like the XJs and the CBs, tourers, semi-tards like the Brutale and the Superduke, etc) after deciding to move on, or was it for you very much about a direct attraction to the cruiser style?

A standard like the Bonnie, or such as the XJ's, Bandits, etc. would probably be comfy enough. For me it was that all my family and friends were on cruisers anyway and I liked the style, then when Matthew at Bikesport on Helensville offered me an on-road price for the Boulevard that made my jaw drop a bit, I decided on a cruiser. Very happy, I must say!

Mate , I have a CB 1300 & a VTX 1800 I ride them both regularly & still like riding both

And both of them looked great, must say I prefered the look of the CB1300 and the seating position of the big VTX, every things a bloody compromise aye. See now why some people own 2 or more bikes.

Nothing wrong with that at all, sometime next year I will own 2 bikes, my little hoe of a Zongshen and some naked sportbike/tourer thing (not sure what yet)

There are so many really good bikes out there i'm sure you will have a lot of fun testing a few of them

After 3 years on the GSX-F600 as a "returning biker", I loved it and didn't know if I'd like a cruiser, but as you say, now I just wanna keep on riding! (The bike, the bike...)

I got to have a sit on the new C109R at Big Boys Toys yesterday - just about had to pull me jacket over the front of me trou when I got off, that is a SEXY bike!

no-ones bashed the cruisers yet... so why not...

Cruisers are superior? pah... I almost sent one down the road TWICE in one day, coz it wouldn't brake properly. The second time I had it so far sideways that I felt it leaning over and found myself counter steering No idea how I kept it upright really... but the car behind left me a huge gap after that.

I have clocked up a few hundred km in the last week, and I just don't wanna stop!

Just need to sort a problem with the cooling fan not running, other than that the 700 is a beautiful creature

Say the custom painted m109 at bigboystoys at the very obvious Suzuki stand surrounded by 900 other Suzuki motorbikes, staff dressed in Suzuki shirts handing out Suzuki phamplets.

I polished the chrome you grubby man, my baby has LOTS of it, problem was it was all so grubby that you could not tell, I am assured that the more of the chrome polish I rub on the shiney bits, the better they will start to look!

Sounds like you were having fun, cruisers are a different beast to ride than a sprots bike no argument there, you do have to get your head around them first. Once you have you won't go back to a sprots bike
