Close call George, how much did that cost?
I saw 2 bacon, fortunately both were in the middle of packs of cars coming towards me, and at the time I was only doing 120, but the road was clear on HW50 so the horses were'nt spared.
On Friday, in the cage, we went from my place over the Taihape road thru the Desert road to Taupo and home, and saw NO cops at all!
Well I am still here. You don't get rid of me that easily.
Lets keep this Hawkes Bay thread alive.
So lets plan the Taupo trip to the protest ride in the near Future.
Cheers
George, that is just silly!
Like a dog who gets hit by a car, and won't cross the road in that particular spot anymore, like it is the roads fault!
See you should all ride behind me.. then you would be really safe from the plod...usually anyway...cheaper than a radar detector too!
Eh, darling?
Diarrhoea is hereditary - it runs in your jeans
If my nose was running money, I'd blow it all on you...
Only if you are unable to control your baser urges...dahling!

BigG, how hard did you get on the brakes when you eyeballed the fuzz?
I've personally found that in such situations I have to overcome a natural urge to ride on past without heavy braking, whistling innocently into my helmet as though nothing's happened.
Unfortunately, that instinct can stop one from braking sufficiently to avoid a ticket. If you stand the bike on its nose the moment you glimpse the cop, you should be able to slow down fast enough so that they can't lock on to a ticket-worthy speed. Remember, if they can see you, you can see them. Keep those Mk I eyeballs peeled, and use those brakes for all they're worth!
(If you're travelling above the ton, though, I'd say that slowing down sufficiently probably wouldn't be doable, so... just have somewhere to run to eh?)
Eternal vigilance!

I have a plan.......we do breaky at W & Ds....say 6.15am - 6.45am...then off to Palmy North....eta 9.00am easy. Meet up with all the Southern cuzzies going to the Protest Ride and ride up the Desert Road to Taupo...eta Taupo 11.30am. Do the Protest Ride through Taupo...then grab some lunch followed by a nice leisurely run back home to Napier and maybe a BBQ tea somewhere real close to where we started ( thats if ya dont mind having tea where ya had ya breaky) and that way all the ladies and others that couldnt make da ride cause of work and dat could come round for da BBQ as well....now, dats a plan. I realise it's gunna be on a Tuesday...but what the heck, it's close enough to xmas so might as well make it our Christmas get together as well...what you all reckon....Cheers W
Hey, we could invite Freddie...cause all us HBers love our wee Freddie
Any of the southern mob want to overnight here on tuesday nite...we will find beds, no worries
I've learned... that to ignore the facts does not change the facts
Do you seriously expect me to believe that these politicians would implement policy based on nothing more than bullshit......
