If so, you really should appreciate that your first course of action should be to secure the scene and ensure no one else gets hurt.
For example, if there were twisties either way as you describe, did 2 of the first bikes there take the iniative to post riders both in front and behind to warn approaching motorists? Or did they simply run around like headless chooks?
Ok, I wasn't there so none of my comments are specific to this case, however they are relavent in all cases.
I wouldnt say headless chooks, more along the lines of "too eager to help". One of the worst things that can happen if you are one of the first to come across a crash scene - Tunnel Vision. One can become so focused on helping someone that they can forget the basics about looking after No1 and things can turn nasty real quick.
I hope at least we can all learn from this unfortunate experience.![]()

My point still stands, if the bikes were on the other side of the white line they had no business bein run into. If they were parked on the road they were right to be run over. I don't know the guy on the gixxer and no offense meant to him whoever he is I'm sure he is a more experienced rider then myself. Say there was a pedestrian jogging on the side of the road would you blame him Noel? I think not. Think of the bike parked on the side of the road as a jogger just doing his thing and BANG.

If my recollection of the road condition is correct, there was only a <1ft strip on the outside of the soild white line so it seems a bit suspect if the bike was said to be parked on the left of the solid white - but hey what would I know, I only saw it happen 20M behind me in my mirror. So it would be interesting to go and have a look at how wide the tar extends out to the left of the left soild white line. Cause who in their right mind would park their bike stand in the loose gravel on a slight downhill slope? But hey at least we are getting constructive now.........
Its prob the same reason why I decided to stop where I did further down the road cause the gut feeling was "Shouldnt park here its too close to the line of fire" and that is the honest truth.
