    Welly to Taupo tomorrow, diversions?

Probably off to Taupo for a look at the track Sunday.

Thought I might go via Napier and back via Taumaranui, or vice versa.

Any interesting wee long-cuts I might consider?

Usually does that on track days, even more so when you have pre-paid!!!
    The route sounds good though.

S'ok dude, I'm fucken hard eh?

    Pissing down water?...

Meh, I spit on rainwater, I make rain wet... *looks*

My, do look a bit grim don't it.

Ain't skeered though, it's just water, I looove water.
'Specially cold water. I really like it dribbling down me jacket zip an' into me pants... an' all over me cods.
Can put up with that fer hours. I'm so hard me winter gloves even have custom holes, in fact they're all hole.

Ah, this rain, dude... likely to be damp is it?

'Cause I looove it cold. Really cold...

Aw fugget, bloody forecast gets worse every time I look. I'll check in the morning, we'll see.

if you plan to take the paras, be prepared to wash the bike afterwards. i took my 250 down south... upon my return she was a mess. got dad to do oil etc for the trip to taupo. he also cleaned her. went to taupo and back... by the time i got back, she was worse than when she got back from 2 weeks on the south island.

theres about a k of works on the wanganui side, with more being done north of there, leeching tar and washouts. road aint safe for decent riding speeds... i didnt get over 70k till out of the twisties.

up around national park theres also tons of signs advising works, but whether theres actually any there or not, i dont know.

your welcome. the road can be ridden easily, but its not enjoyable at this stage.

[btw, the taupo trip was a there and back in one day. so two weeks worth of muck in one day.]

did i complain? i just think its crap how bad that road actually is. i rode it and will ride it again. but for a main road that sees a lot of traffic, its in 3rd world conditions. it really needs to be closed to big vehicles like trucks, as they are ones that assist most of the damage, not to mention the road aint wide enough... how does make it bikes only sound?

ocean was asking for roads, you suggested the paras, and i gave a comment on the conditions. im not a fan of corners, and others like them even less. others cant ride well on gravel for very long. rather than have ocean jump and say yes to riding the paras and then get there to find them not to his liking, it seemed sensible to let him know what he might encounter.

Not too bad until Bulls, then it pissed down. Got a little moist before I got home, mostly arms, through a couple of domes I think, will seal them up. Good to get an extended chance to see how the Pilot power's work in the wet, am very impressed fwiw. Bit boring down the main drag again, but I got me jollies Sat afternoon around the lake.

You get any dry time on the track at all mate?
