Nick, great to see you post here. All the best as you work through the challenges ahead.

You do a great job out there - often thankless, regularly criticised. Keep up the good work - you boys and girls in blue are really appreciated.

Very nice to hear in person from whoever we've been concerned about. Glad that you are well on the way to a full recovery. Bet you are pleased there was no cheesecutter where you came off!!
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

    Thumbs up cheesecutter wire

yeah i at least i have that to be thankful for, no wire to hit. Its a disgrace that the highway has this stuff, they could at least put some covers over them to stop them being like cheesecutter wires.
I am thankful for a lot of things but one in particuler was the great kit i was wearing, really saved me!

cor blimey, sounds like you nearly pipped Shaun Harris in the spectacular bike injuries stakes

Glad to hear you've pulled through in one piece mate! I too would like to see the bmw helmet, i've heard they make some great kit.

    Helmet

I will try to get a pic from the crash unit to send out. But honestly it saved me! the helmet was a series 5 flip helmet, a bit pricey but how much can you place on your head or your life in my instance. Always pays to have good kit thats what saved me from worse injuries.

Nice to see you able to give this forum some feed back mate. Hopefully your decision to move to NZ will not be overtaken by what happened!

Good Grief! No wonder you had a sore noggin for a while there Nick!

That's a pretty graphic illustration of the severity of your crash - and how lucky you are to be around to tell us about it!

    Helmet

Thanks to Bykeycop for posting the pics. I have a lot to be thankful for including the helmet. I have had great support from everyone and good nurses, for that i thankyou all. Its been so great to have such great support. Now wonder i was in a coma for 3 weeks with a head which looked like i was growing another! either that or it was my brain trying to get out! hang on i'm a traffic man i'm not supposed to have a brain!!!! on seeing the pics i was amazed i was still here, a good helmet or a thick head!
But seriously i dont think i could have got better so quickly without your and others support, again thankyou.
