    MURDERER!!!
    wasps have feelings too.

the wasps play by the same rules as some humans...any hole is a goal!

i've only ever have a bug fly up into my helmet. makes you look completely stupid trying to get at your face with gloves etc. Do i go through the visor? or up from the bottom? neither bloody works!

oh well. carry on all the wiser (sore for the experience)

Lmao... a month ago, I was riding around in the newly-dawned sunny weather. Visor open, as I prefer in 50kph zones, going around the local suburban twisties down by the waterfront at my place. In my `happy place', smile inside helmet, Charlie Parker playing in my head, then *BAM*

    WTF?

Huge (motherfucking yoooooj) bumble-bee flew straight into my (rather large) nose. Splattered all over my cheeks and face, and a little bit got into my eye, which stung like jeebus.

Got to the locksmiths and the guy asked me if I wanted a cloth for my face.

Muahahahahahahaha very good description of the situation I imagine it looked like you trew up in your visor and it went up your face istead of down to your chin. I'm bloody scared of those big ones man. does the sting hurt more than a normal bee ?

Hornets are the most nasty insects on this planet, period!!!
Good on ya for taking one out! Although I feel for your pain, they are rightfully agonising little buggers!

Mate, now that is pretty stupid. Imagine what your eye would look like if it caught a bumblebee at 100 kph. A small hint: Not pretty at all! (and no, glasses are not much of a help in that situation...)
But glad to hear you kept the situation "somewhat" under control and managed to get it sorted out without a spill.

From recalling being a little boy, no... wasps were far more painful. I seem to remember the bumble bee leaving its whole arse behind sticking out of my arm. Odd things they are.

This one died the horrible death that is being plastered all over my face before he could sting me.

Somebody on here once told the story of somebody getting stung in the eye on a group ride; the way to get it out was to loop a strand of hair around the sting and pull it out like that. Sounds feckin' painful.

Closest a bee has managed to get to stinging me was a large bumble bee that tried to fit through the front vent on my lid, being about 1/2 the width of the bee, it just exploded into a million pieces and took me weeks to get all the guts out.
