Obviously there's a wealth of knowledge being thrown here but looking at Mark's lean it does look to me like his leg is out, the bike is leaned over but look at his head - it's still above the petrol tank. The centre of mass of the body should be hanging in towards the centre of the arc. That way the bike doesn't have to lean so far.

I've attached a pic of Loris Capirossi to demonstrate - his knee is no where near the tarmac but he is kissing where his mirror would be (something DMNTD told me to do) as he enters a corner.

My point? there's more weight in your gut than in your knee cap.

Yeah but loris's whole body weights as much as skiddy's knee and remember he is one of nz top racers

Stuff this lines and smoothness bullshit. Just go faster round the corner. Stop being a pussy and use the throttle more and the brake less.

When you start falling off you'll be going about fast enough.

    [quote=skidMark;1411088]upgrade the bike?quote]

must upgrade to a brain first skiddy, too much power and not much self restraint is a potentially fatal combination.

Before u even get on another bike, get ur attitude right first.

    1. U have nothing to prove to anyone. (dont look to race folks)
    2. U are not the shit. U r a nub/turd (perhaps one day with a lot of practice and help u will be promoted to a magget).
    3. The road is not the place for any of this.

Once u think uve mastered the above, ask urself this, if another bike comes up to u and challenges u to a whose got bigger balls race on the road, can u control ur throttle and not beam off after him?

If yes, you my friend will live long enough to give someone else some of the advise given to u on this thread.

    Peace bro.

I strongly suspect Mark's brain is too disorganised to make use any of the advice offered in here.

Mark, enter that ZXR into Streetstocks. You'll pick up the right racing lines, braking & powering out techniques from the other racers.

Please. You'll have half of KB cheering you on.

Running out of lean? Sooner or later, Skiddy will surely run out of spleen with his knee down antics on the road!

Reaching the edges of your tyres doesnt necessarily mean you cannot go faster.

I have experienced having my rear wheel lifted clean off the ground powering out of a corner (twice) because I was leaning so far my exhaust was hitting.

After that I worked on going faster with less lean, and I did. then once you have that mastered, then leaning more can be used to gain speed.

That's just the problem, all Mark has ever been interested in is chocking his own chain. He has had all the advice in the world, people have lent a hand & helped the kid out on MANY occasions & time & time again he snubs it off because he (thinks) he knows what he's doing only to show himself to be the muppet he is. His original post here is a prime example that he STILL hasn't got a clue, not even close.
To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and to endure the betrayal of false friends. To appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; to know that even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded
