Karmakiller and myself took a ride to Levin and surrounding areas for lunch, so we have had our fix for today.
Should be a good evening for a ride, for those heading out anywhere
You know it's going to be a bad day when you jump out of bed and miss the floor.

Nice to see everybody behaving themselves tonight at Pakuratahi. You must have all been on Harleys, because nobody waved.

    For Hitcher:

    Every breath you take
    Every move you make
    Every bond you break
    Every ride you take
    Ill be watching you

    Every single wednesday
    Every word you say
    Every game you play
    Every night you stay
    Ill be watching you

    Oh, cant you see
    You belong to me
    How my poor heart aches
    With every ride you take

    Every move you make
    Every chain you break
    Every smile you fake
    Every claim you stake
    Ill be watching you

Since youve gone I been lost without a trace
I dream at night I can only see your face
I look around but its you I cant replace
I feel so cold and I long for your embrace
I keep crying baby, baby, please...

    Oh, cant you see
    You belong to me
    How my poor heart aches
    With every breath you take

    Every move you make
    Every piston you break
    Every smile you fake
    Every claim you stake
    Ill be watching you

    Every move you make
    Every ride you take
    Ill be watching you

    Ill be watching you
    Ill be watching you
    Ill be watching you
    Ill be watching you...

(a few words may have been changed, sorry Sting)

Arrived at the duckpond, and what a surprise, there before me was my Golf November Two Five Zero.

Good ride around Lake Wairarapa, and the meals were ready when we got back to the hotel.

Thanks Russell for being TEC from Featherston.

Twas a good blat. A lot colder over the Rapa than up here on the coast.
Buck, thats why I took off on the road down to the lake - I wanted time to stop and put the liner in my vented jacket before you caught up - unfortunately some of the others thought it was time for a fang and took off after me - I guess that set the stage for the rest of the trip!
Experience......something you get just after you needed it

And the Welly adventurers met up with TCWNR group at the red pub. We'd done 629km by that time and 4 out of the 5 arses couldn't go a kilometer further without a rest before attacking The Hill.

No problems Nivram - you're very welcome.

Had a bit of a scary moment on the way home, though. Just after the Takas someone in their 4WD decided to overtake Nivram and I about 6 - 10 metres before a blind corner, since we had the audacity to be only doing 80 kph in a 100 zone!!!

And if someone had come around the corner going the other way, I know exactly what would have happened - he would have moved back into the left lane in a hell of a hurry. I mean, which would he have considered the lesser of two evils - that two motorcyclists are killed when they are crushed by the side of his 4WD, or that he is involved in a head on collision. After all, only one of those scenarios involve his life being put at risk.

On the bright side, I've got his numberplate, and will pass it on to the cops today. I may also go into the Post Office, and get his name and address, and send him a very polite letter explaining that the two motorcyclists whose lives he seemed to care so little about are both married, and between them have three children. And unless he wants to spend the rest of his life supporting our two wives and three kids with his wages, since his careless and thoughtless actions prevented us from doing so ourselves, that he should perhaps take a little more care in future when he's on the road.
