We all know during your learner period etc riding at 70kph on the motorway can be asking for trouble, if not a death wish. Anyway riding a 50cc scooter on the motorway is a total death wish.
Other day going to work on the NW motorway saw a 50cc scooter doing around 50kph in the left lane and cars squeezing past the guy within his lane, thought to myself your kean. But this afternoons example of a scooter on a motorway defies all belief!
Approaching Te Atatu off ramp the traffic was speeding up after the usual congested area around Patiki Road. Up ahead I could see a scooter riding on the far left of the right hand lane. Thought to myself he will move over soon..........but no he continues to ride the lane line with cars going past him at 90kph+ and he had no intention of moving from where he was.
After waiting around 30 seconds I shot past and continued up the motorway, even as I'm disappearing in to the distance at 110kph with the traffic flow this scooter was still puttering along at 50-60kph in between the two lanes.
How some people get a license is beyond me
