Haha. I'm just teasing you about the colour. You know red's my favourite colour. Why do you think my jacket, gloves and helmet are all red when I have a bright green bike...

Yeah absolutely. I'll be heading along to the CWNR tonight, the regulars are expecting me like, but yeah, should jack up another ride sometime too before the cooler weather and gritted roads set in.

You're entitled to your opinion in that regard, no worries there, I'm not going to tell you you're wrong - it's an opinion, it's not necessarily right or wrong...

But after riding it just the three days I've had it, I really don't have any worries about it being too big or fast, or too big of a step up. In fact, once I'm on the move the bike "shrinks" around me. I know it sounds stupid, but it feels just like a bigger and more powerful 250. It's an absolute hoot to ride, and feels so well planted through the twisty bits it really is confidence inspiring. I've been making sure I take it easy and slow down more for the corners than I used to do on the NZ, but it just feels so good and under control I'm quite happy to tip it in... and powering out of the corner? Yeah, I'm not going to miss the NZ.

So yeah, you may think I've made too big a step... but I respectfully disagree. Once those carbs and brakes are sorted, it'll be justabout exactly what I want in a bike - it suits me very nicely. Sure, it's got more power, but I'm aware of that and respect it. Being an inline four, you have to rev it to get to the bulk of the power, but it comes on progressively and predictably - hasn't caused even close to a scare.

Nice one Ryan... delighted for you mate!

I'll reply to your PM at weekend - I'm just about to head off to Donington Park for a trackday tomorrow. The weather forecast would suggest I'd be better taking an ark rather than the bike though

Enjoy, and keep it safe fella

Now, where did I put those thermals?

Looks nice DE, and I know you are going to enjoy it after the NZ... not that there was anything wrong with the NZ but you had outgrown it and it was time to move on.
So enjoy and be careful dude
