youll have the hornets nest all over you if ya don't watch out lol na i certainly prefer a bit of plastic on me bikes hornets seem to only appeal to a select few ...

But i will certainly be testing a few Trumpys out ,especially the street triple ,seems to me the cheaper alternative to a super duke . (they are both relatively a stunting machine really)

am watching my back for the knives

Funny I thought I liked plastic but now I much prefer nakid .. esp after seeing the kat go for a tumble down the road & a few others that have to have hundreds spent on fairings .. sure I will have insurance .. but ....... naked seems to be a much better option ..

hmm yea very true ,but i guess if i didn't have fairings it would've more than likely of destroyed my engine casings which would of left me with a buggered engine so maybe thats something to think about (whether fairings would provide protection i dont know ,but it makes sense in my case )

plus i think non faired bikes are cheaper to insure anyways

hmm true dat .. however insurance will still cover it .. & I like looking at engines (yeah ok not that i always know wot I am looking at) still have ridden a few nakid & semi nakid bikes & still prefer them to the faired bikes

guess it comes down to personal preference

Best plan is to stay on the bike that way the rider is better off too!

Why worry about repair costs that hopefully never eventuate? It may be more worthwhile to price up insurance for the different models - it's possible there could be a difference between naked/faired, sports/sports-tourer etc.

I never plan to use insurance but damn glad I have had it when vehicle was stolen/broken into .. etc .. I never plan to fall off either but accidents happen & as much as you try to reduce the risk .. you can never plan on wot others could do ..

regardless of insurance cost I will still get a bike that I really enjoy, so even if it was cheaper to get a faired bike, & I prefer the nakid I will still get it .. insurance costs is low down on my priority list .. its just a necessary evil

Still keen on the GC? Gotta get my entry away soon, may as well print out 2 (or more) copies...
    thinking thinking.

I am doing the 4 points rally this year. Not sure if the old budget will stretch to the GC (not to mention the ass). Have to see. Definite maybe on that one.

Totally agree, find what suits and then worry about insurance.

yea,i don't instantly think "insurance on that thing is going to cost a fortune" when i look at a bike ,but for me (just beginning to sort out my first morgage omg what a fricken mission) i tend to think about those things a bit more than others might, because i dont want to be caught later on with a bike i cant afford to insure.
