woops , paint flecking off during the ride ... lol hmm doesn't sound too good ,but it sounds like the 1200 is the one for you ,just got to find a decent one eh!

Have you tried out a 750 katana ? they got comfy seats on em ya know ! may not be injected but they get over 320 kms to a 15ltr tank ..and as you have seen ,are pretty bulletproof, good luggage carries and very cheap to maintain tyre and sprocket wise

no it did not come off during the ride .. we stopped to give it the close inspection away from the shop ..

funny you should say katana .. they have a brand new one there for a good price unfortunately it was not wet so it was not test rideable ...

on talking with Hitcher .. his wife has the bandit 650 & gets over 400 ks out of a 20ltr tank .. apparently they have better range than the 600 .. ohh choices choices ..

o ok ,yea brand new is a pretty good price, certainly allows you to have a bit more left to put givi luggage racks on etc .

hmm thats weird the 650 getting better than the 600 bandit.the bandit is alot more technically upgraded than the katana with the fuel injection and all the rest of that

actually the stone grey 99 was more tidy than the 01 ..as per my ride report the 01 had a bit of an engine whine at slow ks .. but they sure are a mile eater ..

It isn't. Nowhere near as tidy as the older one.

    cheers Bonez

Edit: now I have to add this one to the test ride list .. actually for the price could be good bang for the buck as well .. however I dunna think that guy would have been correct in how many ks his mate gets out of a tank of gas

took the 01 bandit out first .. Ks 25,919, red nice bike to ride for sure .. nice seat & felt really balanced.

Headed out towards alfredston got into a groove pretty quickly & corners realllllllllll nice .. parked up & had a good look a few flecks of paint off it here & there .. but overall pretty tidy ..

on the way back & played with her a bit .. slowed & really listened to the motor .. hmm picked up a bit of a engine whine at lower speeds ahh no thanks

time to head back & take the 99 (with the givi gear) for a quick flick .. as soon as i got on this bike could tell the front end was a lot lighter .. so off for a few quick twisties .. this had a lower screen & got a bit of buffeting fr the breeze .. handled more like the 600 with the front end being lighter ..

no paint chips off it .. & was quite tidy but age is against it .. one plus this bike does have low ks for its age .. only 22,000ks

Oscar parted company to head home while we went on a bit of a mission so Bonez could add an old helmet to the "fence" at Mangamarie (photo op for prosperity)

quick blat back to Palmy & got to PT's & time to test ride another bike ... talked Rottiguy into test riding the Bandit 600 I took out last week while I rode the GSX1400 ..

felt like i was riding a hog .. wide handlebars & quite heavy but hell of a nice ride on the open road, & dipped into the corners really easy .. being completely nakid bike took quite a bit of buffeting in the wind ... so not a fan of nakids. This bike had quite a few xtra's heated grips, pack rack, scott oiler, & crash bars had done 15,000 ks .. so for $10,500 was a bargain .. just to heavy for me to toss around ..

Then off to Carmens for a coffee & man tiredness set in .. but off to cafe cuba for afternoon dessert & checked out Anza for a look .. back home which was a very sedate trip as I was shattered .. a nana nap was on the cards after feeding the horses .. feel much better now

still looking for a newer model bandit 1200 to try ..
Well yep I definately like the bandit now although I would expect better fuel economy out of the 650 seeing as how it's injected and the 600 isn't. I will give a 1200 a go before I make any rash decisions, but as they aren't making the katana any more, new parts may be hard to get in a few years and/or cost a heap.

yeah thats wot hitcher said .. the injected 650's have better economy than the 600

ohh did not know that about the katana .. wonder if that is why they seem like a bargain .. anyhow still want to look at a newer model 1200 & may even take a new 650 out now as well
