I'm keen to make a couple of (hopefully) straightforward adjustments to the baby VTR -

Wind up the rear preload a wee bit - but not too much as Ingrid still has to ride it (I tried with a shitty OEM toolkit suspension spanner - but the frustration shortened my life...)

Raise the bars back up again (top of the triple clamp has been droped down 10-15mm)

And if Mr Shingo is keen, he could swap for a set of after market alloy bars But only if he wants to.

Will be along after work finishes at 4.30 - but probably shouldn't stay too long (but I should be allowed out to play as it's working on Ingrid's bike for her benfit)

Aye, and always good to see on a nice, simple machine like a GN - I'll definately be learning stuff!

    Is this a do?

EDIT: this is for the 929 btw.

Cool. Need to replace the sparks on it as well so I'll try and get a set today/tomorrow. Will get a cleaner for the discs as well unless you guys have kero lying around.

    Be there around 4.30ish.

Replace the dust and fork seals since you are doing it ($30 bucks for a pair of seals). Once done it will last 20,000 - 30,000km's without any problems. If your forks are non upside downs then it will be easier then USD.

Why do you need to take the hoses off when you are working on just the throttle cable. You just use a piece of plank to lift the tank at a 45 degree angle and you can remove the air box etc and do some engine work (The original hoses are long enough unless yours have been cut). I dont even remember my fuel hoses have clamps .

Prying it open sounds almost maniacal *lol*. Wonder if I should purchase the pads? Maybe we can "pry" it open and see if we need to get them replaced.

Cool. I know I need to replace the piston rings as well. Not sure if you have a compo in the shed. Have the workshop manual however it's in electronic format. I'll bring it along anyway.

Yer, i have a lappy for in the shed, and a long cable so theres internet too

Pads? Cycletreads have em for about $45 a set, are you doing front and back or just the rear? They do a 3 for 2 on one of the brands (might be feredo), so if you're doing the fronts then you could get a free rear

    Otherwise just do the rears
