    sorry...*speaks very quietly now...*

The little I have had to do with TV, the more prepared you are, the better...and you got to be very patient and persevere, talking to shit load of people. Oh and also, you got to sell ice cream to esquimos...you'll be fine!

which as mentioned makes it hard to criticise their product. Perhaps a potential sponsor would come from the products bikers use that aren't necessarily bike related .... e.g.
    > an alcohol brand (Jim Beam, JD) even though there may be a conflict with road safety
    > fast food 'KFC', 'Burger King' etc. (Perhaps our use of the BK Moorhouse carpark as the meeting place for our Wednesday Night Rides might pay dividends)
    > An oil company e.g. 'Mobil'.

Good luck with it. It sounds like a great idea.

Of course, it then becomes very hard to criticise one of your sponsor's products - and the audience will know it. IMO authenticity is the key to a show like this, and the hardest bit to get right in NZ's production climate.
There is, of course, a theory in which there are no bad bikes (excluding the badly made Chinese stuff), only bikes suited for one particular purpose. Testing a Harley on a track, meh. Same with testing a Fireblade on a tour. Sure you can do it, but it's not much fun.

The Top Gear guys will rip into a Vauxhall, but the Vauxhall may be perfect for the job it's meant to be doing. You don't have to stir up controversy to get viewer.

I'd avoid a fast food company - the wowsers these days would be complaining that you were promoting their children getting fat.

Is there any chance of getting Bronz involved?? Bronz could get sponsorship from the manufacturers directly and funnel it into the show. Sort of indirect manufacturer sponsorship. Could avoid potential conflicts.....

Should be fine on that score...I am probably responsible for a part of global warming, with the amount of ice I have sold for the inuit to melt..LOL

Thanks mate. This is a first strike if you like, just to see what the feeling about it may be. Sponsorship will be a big part of funding the show of course. Remember there are some laws these days around certain products being used to promote anything. We obviously will be restricted by them.

One of Top Gears main attractions is the pisstake element which gets non petrolheads interested.Very hard to accomplish here in NZ without pissing off the bikeshops/greenies/OSH/(fill in the blank).Let's face it we are so pc that if you say you're wrong/I disagree/that's shit it would be hard to keep sponsors on board.A very narrow plank to negotiate.Sincere good luck and if you ever need a roving reporter give me a yell(non pc but)

Good luck with this project, I do hope you manage to pull it off but please do not do as others have done and limit its view to just one region of NZ. Perhaps a segment on the good roads to travel in both islands.
Its not the destination that is important its the journey.

Waiheke hasn't got many good roads at all. I can't see why he'd bother.
