be careful when you lift you head up. The worlds changed a bit since 1971. (the last time your head was out of the gutter)

Whilst that I realized that your purchasing power overseas is better, it does nothing to help the local bike shops. Who do you go to when you have issues with your new gear, certainly not the place in the States that you brought it from. You go to your local bike shop and expect them and the local supplier to rectify the problem for a product you didn’t even purchase in NZ.

This is happening more and more guys, as I see it on a weekly basis. But this does nothing to help the local bike shops that have a large investment in inventory to give the customer a good range of choice, of which is then only used as a sizing and problem solution to buy overseas at a cheaper price, hence harming our local economy.

You are the first ones to complain when your local bike shops don’t have what you want. This will become more and more if the locals don’t shop locally. One of the advantages to shopping locally at which ever shop that maybe, is the development of a relationship with your chosen shops staff, and you will find that if you support them, they will look after you.

But you guys and girls that shop overseas are the first to expect a discount or some other form of concession from the shops when you need something in a hurry that you can’t source from overseas. Where’s the fairness in that??? Especially to our loyal customers.

    Rant over
I'm going to be in the market for ANOTHER helmet! I was wondering if it's possible to get one locally with an inbuilt alarm clock and lights in the visor that let you know when it's time to brake?

Don't get me wrong, I'm not sitting on a fence, I bought most of the bling on the JadedBlade from eBay as I couldn't source it here or had to go through the local Honda dealer (who I'd rather not deal with if avoidable) and PT's couldn't stock Geniune Honda parts.

Case in point PT's did a fine job of getting me some fibre plates but can't find an alternative to the genuine Honda Steel plates for my clutch, so I either had to go the eBay road or the Honda dealer. Originally the shop couldn't get me anything as they had no parts catalogue or microfiche for an NC29. Found the item pretty easily online though. The shop now has the Part catalogue so I'll be getting them locally but I very nearly went offshore for it.

Yod chose an AGV helmet, which he said couldn't be bought at PT's so how did he do any harm? Should he have changed his choice to something that IS available? HELL NO! Thats the tactics HONDA are using RIGHT NOW to phase out 2 Strokes - making it hard to get parts and easy to get the 4 stroke stuff so customers will choose that instead.

I just don't think this was the place to let rip and I could envision 80% of people lining up behind Yod - myself included.

I could build you something based on a Parking sensor, a talking alarm clock that sounds like your mother inlaw screaming in your ear and a miniture cartoon billboard that flips up inside your visor much like this one ==> that says "Dude... You're Fu#ked".

Have to be a KBC shell though, they rock
