So Ill use you as an example here, do you reguley check oils, fluids, filters, drive cain tension etc?
Or are you more wanting to know oil/filter changes and valve clearances?

Ok folks down to nuts an bolts time.

We will not be doing engine rebuilds and such, these are basic maintenance evenings, however should a few of you guys want to use the thread to meet up and do a larger project go for it, I enjoy the fact this seems to have kicked something off.

The plan for the first night is pre ride checks, and hopefully post ride maintenance, we are looking at no more than 2 hour sessions, and possibly starting either next week on the 7th or the week after on the 14th.

Wayne (aka wofman) has gained access to the Street and Sport workshop, for those of you who don't know this is the local Triumph dealership, and it looks like Glenn (World record holder) and perhaps one of their mechanics will be there to help us out so if anyone wants to shout Wayne a beer sometime I am sure he wont refuse.

Still keep the ideas coming, if you have anything specific you want to see or ask, who knows we might be able to cover it in another night, and yes suspension setup is in the plan

Can I sugest that anyone who would like something done on their bike, to clean their bike. I hate working on dirty bikes.

I was wondering if we could have a training night where Spuds can show folks how to clean their bike, I have a bike that can be used for this

We can do so however unfortunately we will not have access to the Street and Sport workshop

, Wayne will allow us to use his workshop (Gloucester Motor Company) on the cnr of Gloucester and Fitzgerald to get us under way. I will try and get a better post up tonight after I get home from work but start time is 6 o'clock.

Unfortunately for that little gem, I must spread myself around, so I can't give you bling

I'm pretty keen as well, having said that. If it's not happening until next week I'll still be keen, and will hopefully come along.

Alas no, I don't know how to do anything much other than checking the battery, air filter, spark plugs and oil level. Chain tension etc would be useful to know

Oh and as for the important questions: what beer should I be bringing for the show-and-tell-er's?

Ok folks we are all set for a start date of 07/05/08 at Gloucester Motor Company, at 6pm, this is wofman's business address and he will be on site so we have a mechanic to answer questions.

Intended coverage is pre ride checks and post ride maintenance, if we have time we might get a little coverage of basic suspension setup, I am going to try and limit the time a bit to a maximum of 2 hours (gotta have time to get a beer).

I hope to see a decent turn out for this, even if you are experienced enough to know how to do these basics yourself it would be nice if you could lend a hand to those who are just beginning.
