The engine canna' take it cap'n! (a very sad day)

Well, coming back from Mangawahi to day, the front left conrod decided it wanted some fresh air on the RG500 and the motor is
sooo... if anyone knows of a spare RG engine, or at least cases and who knows what else...

Stink! I hope it didn't take too long to arrange a rescue. Good luck with the repair.

Yes, square 4 500. 2 cranks to fix, barrels made from solid unobtanium. I mentally counted up the likely parts cost, and got depressed around $6k...
I have a nasty feeling that the barrel will be buggered. I found a bit of piston ring and the small end, but who knows where the piston went.
I just bought a RG400 motor off trademe. The top case can be bored to take the 500 barrels (so I am told), assuming i can salvage what is there.

Just had the gearbox done too buggerit, it it was running well.

Poopers ... that ain't good ta hear! Sounds like it will be off the road for a wee while whilst you track down all the parts and wring some funds out of the immaterium!

Glad to hear you managed to keep it rubber side up during the event!

I'll go on record as saying "Ah well, the gearbox should be ok".
