Sorry I dont know how experienced you are Archer, but 160 is more than enough on a Zx10 in race mode to start with, they can ask you to " get off' at any time they please............ (dunno about the 08 model though).
I would treat that figure as your base line Archer & move forward from there.
I have lapped Pukekohe at exactly the same pace on a 164hp 04 (10) & a 184hp (o5) 10 on the same day., its all in the power delivery & of course suspension set up. And there was a certain No88 bike that was all over my ass on a 600 that very same day doin 58's as well............( & he only had 125hp).
I know for sure that Shaun spent a lot of time on that bike & engine (and he raced it very effectivly also).
Regarding reliability - well your in the " lap of the gods" in respect to any race bike - however the 1000's are way less stressed out than say the 600's or smaller engines as they simply are not heldup in the upper rev range for much of their life aye.
Hope to see you out there soon givig Jimmy a hurry up......
Cheers
Glen
you'll find that derek is very reasonable about his charges and he is always keen to help a fellow kawasaki punter. in fact, i first got to know derek well through him volunteering to help me degree a zx9r race bike i was building. he even did it for free!
if you want to talk to him, he works at AFC motors in palmerston north.
