a treadmill or gym membership comes to mind rather than a type of bike

Like minded people give out GOOD advice, as well as like minded people giving out BAD advice. AND being a free country... you choose which is which. Choose wrong, and it is then YOUR fault for choosing the wrong advice... and the KB site remains blameless. Choose right and... hey... we're good !!!

    Thanks Griff..

No he's not just asking in the third person he actually does have a larger than life mate and it is me.

Thanks for all the responses both good and encouraging, I would try a gym membership but my religon doesn't allow it and unfortunatly every time I get on my excercycle I peddle like fek'n crazy and don't get anywhere .

Anyhow, I'm looking at bikes this week and had the chance to check out a Hyosung 'Aquilla' 250 (not sure if thes spelt right) tonight really nice bike I thought, quite big for a 250 but its really hard to get a feel for it when you can't go anywhere on it and have one foot on the ground.

I am a total noob when it comes to bikes, I have little to no experience and am more than a little anxious having to change to this as my mode of transport, however its gotta be cheaper than $210 a f/n on gas.
