Has anything you have read on Kiwi Biker changed your mind about something?

Was thinking if kiwibiker and all the opinions that come across on it actually change anyone elses opinion on anything or do people just come here to voice theirs and either agree to disagree or think everyone who disagrees is a dumbarse.

Anything from riding styles, ie, you might be doing something, discussion had and you decided you were doing it wrong and someone else had a better idea so you adopted it to choice of tyres/equipment for bike, etc.....

Nearly all men can stand adversity and hard time, but if you want to test a mans true character, give him power....

Yup, shitloads on KB changed my opinion of how bright a lot of people posting their 'knowledge' are(n't).

Spending time in the Scottish thread has not changed my mind on those matters...
And there are still a bunch of rabid Labourites here, so those other threads aren't working...
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

I learned about countersteering and was motivated to practise other bike-handling skills.
It was suggested I go to a RRRS course, and so I did.
I didn't know what the dohickey was on my bike and someone told me.

A lot of people said ATGATT, so I do too.

I started biking with KB, so all my attitudes and beliefs about biking have been taken from here. 90% of the bikers I know are KB'ers.
So it hasn't changed a lot of my opinions, but it has formed them.

Formed, informed, advised, questioned, revised and changed. But there are very few left here now that can debate robustly.

    Right site, wrong forum....try L.O.A.

It was thanks to KB that I chose a VTR250 for my first bike so it changed my opnion there.

It was reading a thread on KB that persuaded me to go on RRRS which was money well spent.

KB has pretty much been there for me throughout my motorcycling career so far and I've learned which opinions to trust and which ones to ignore. Sometimes I act on advice from KBers I don't actually like and sometimes I dismiss advice from friends. I think if you know where to look there are some really good nuggets of info among the bullshit.

The main thing for me is it has really helped me get in touch with other bikers and forge some solid friendships.

I can sir, however there is little point in debating as I am always correct.

Being still somewhat of a n00b in terms of "Riding" (spent far too long commuting on my learners), I've filtered out the useful from the BS

Probably the biggest impact is reading about peoples bins... I've always been told by naysayers "Bikes are so dangerous" blah blah blah, but none of them were ever riders. And I remember when I was younger, thinking I'm bulletproof, heading off to the gym on the bike in shorts with nothing but a Helmet and Jacket for safety gear.

Now I always wear a Leather Jacket regardless, and at the very least I'll wear Kevlar sliders round town, but always full Leathers when I go for a proper ride.... Guess I'm an ATGATT convert, but I learnt from others experiences rather than the hard (painful) way
