[QUOTE=Kittyhawk;1614946]OH no!
The cops had a mufti cop getting plates and taking speeds etc on old north road and there were about 5 cars waiting for us at peak road/ HWay 16.
I got 28 day loss and fine, dont know about other people though.. a few lost licences though
Anything they could get you for, i got done for my plate aswell..
Funny thing is.. the cop said he got my plate from the side of the road in a sitting car when i was speeding, then gives me a ticket for my plate because he said he cant see it with the angle its on.. So it was a load of bullshit really.
It is good to note that there aren't any serious crimes like shootings/armed robberies, or murders happening in Auckland that might keep them occupied.
Question. Before the arrival of Andy C., how many accidents/injuries were occuring (of any kind) on the roads that are being patrolled?

Maybe I should take up a new occupation as a Fortune Teller?
They had a list of bikes and were still looking for a few when we left the scene. There could be the possiblity that they may knock on your door.
Even tho this is bordering on Police Harassment, at least they had the decency to let those who were 'walking' to ride their bikes home. Remember this is at the officers disgreation and they can still be liable for your actions if you do not go straight home/commit another offence.
Just an outline of what happened:
Approached the end of Peak road to be greeted by 4 Patrol Cars with a 'roadblock' in place (cones and approx 8 cops-very similar to a breath testing point). Asked to get off bike and produce licences. Apporx 5mins after pulling over, dark coloured (blue?) late model Primera pulls up. Our friend jumps out with 3 others and proceeds to open up notebook with a list of rego plates written down and walks amongst bikes. 4 definate 28days walking with a couple of maybes. Supposedly the Primera was parked up somewhere on Old North Rd. Those who lost their licences where allowed to ride their bikes home (and not via the pub - as said by a cop). Patrol car made a visit to the bar afterwards to check on who was there......(reading rego plates)
