    Yeah. The price.

Apart from that, go for it. Just remember that a new chain and sprockets will set you back a tad under $200.

this thread is rediculus in its longness!! seriously just buy a GN250 and then spend the time on your learners and restricted to decide what bigger bike you wanna get! Seriously at this point in your riding career you won't go any faster on a zxr or a cbr than you will on a GN, infact having ridden Gn's and other more "racier" 250's id say you are definitley guna have more fun on a GN. If you were guna race or were a more experienced rider it would be worth it to put the time into rebuilds etc but I still maintain that the Gn is the perfect learner bike!

    Buy this.

I would rather ride Volty than GN if I could have had a choice. (mechanics are same but Volty looks cooler)
Altho I still like what I have

The GN can look ok too once you get it dirty put a screen on it and load it up for touring! lol you have to be well hung to ride a GN to put up with the shit that people give them, they are GREAT bikes, I thrashed the shit out of mine and the only thing that packed up was the speedo and that was only because the GN was not deigned for water crossings! lol

red VTR = 45000km, $3790, open to view on friday in the evening, anytime after 6 is fine. (i think this is the guy out east)

kwakka gpx = 34750km, $2500 (or near - ie 2200ish <-i like that price!), viewing friday, after 7. [condition is apparently good, few scratches. he says she runs well. shall see for ourselves.]

volty (cheers yui) = 21000km, $2500 (contacting now)

yellow bandit - ehab, what's his number??? i'll contact him and set up a meet!

black bandit (blockhouse bay), 51000km, $2900, (full engine rebuild recently), viewing sat after lunch (but i'm working this saturday, so not sure... can some1 check it up for me?)....

Goodness it that list you have 4 suzuki's (kwaka can be considered a suzuki too) so given the uniqueness of the VTR of cos get the Honda....you want something special so that you can stand out from the rest.....lol.....

now, i know how much this has managed to drag on, but it's almost over!! am viewing 5 bikes on the list so far, and the 2 fxr's are also open to get, but i'm gonna avoid them for now. a gn would be ok, looks cool, and could look even cooler (cafe racer!!), but i'm really gonna take andrew's opinion on it and not get one though. i obviously don't know bikes well enough to know the gn's reliability, but am cool spending the little more (plus most gn's are just a little less than the bikes i'm looking at, so may as well spend the little bit extra now, and get the one good bike to last a long time rather than the gn, and have to go through another fit of debates with my dad when i wanna upgrade) - my thoughts anyway.

is the volty a more reliable bike than the gn? or jsut rarer (which would prob make parts a bugger to come across..... hmmm ) so again, i dunno. plus a really wanna just check these ones out too! (they're such cool bikes!!!)

haha, yea, have spoken to the owner. i like the vtr and the kwakka the most in the list as well. (i just have a thing for the kwakka - most of all the ones on yui's bike sticker collection!!) vtr seems the best buy though, just becoz of what it is and what it can do. hehe, so will see how all goes on friday. if i can arrange a payment scheme with the owner of the vtr, then i may just be getting that (provided all else checks out). as i'm still under for cash. have asked him, but he didn't reply. will see how it goes when i'm there. i can work paying 1000 a week, (initially, 2000 second week, and remainder last week). will see what he says when i ask him again in person tho.
