I thought the busa and ZX14 were heading towards 200mph (320km) territory? The speeds indicated here seem a little low.

I know the speedo's are a bunch of horse shit, but I've seen 300km indicated on a ZX9R. These bikes mentioned should be capable of a shit load quicker than that old girl was.

'Indicated' speeds can be rather inaccurate. Try 275km/h.
'08 Hayabsua will crack 325km/h when derestricted.
Aerodynamics are a big deal when pushing past 300km/h.
I think something like .01cda is equal to about 4hp at 300km/h!

I've got a clip somehwere of a GSX1400 with after market exhausts only, doing 2.57 seconds from 0-100kmh. When they first came out there was nothing on earth that would touch them to 100kmh (Standard production vehicles I'm talking about)

One of the importers I worked with told me that the manufacturers don't publish the absolute figures for a couple of different reasons. For example:

1. To prevent a horsepower/speed marketing war.
2. To avoid attracting adverse publicity.
3. To prevent the bikes being restricted or banned in export markets.

Kinda funny that the busa once again is incorrectly called the fastest (if ya don't count the jetbike thingee) I've posted up many times links to a majority of tests that have the ZX12r outrunning Busa's by 3-4mph.......and the Blackie didn't beat the ZX11 (zzr1100) that was clocked at around 304kph when they were first released....

I remember that verified 314kmh top speed test from another review somewhere but can't find it. I recall one airfield test on a calm day recorded a verified 319kmh from a stock earlier model Busa as well.
